Mission of the Division of Student Life

To engage students in meaningful, experiential learning opportunities which are in support of, collaboration with, and parallel to academic programs.

Create a division-wide culture grounded in tenets of innovative possibilities which reduce barriers and create support mechanisms to/for student well-being.

Provide students with opportunities to offer input on decisions and general feedback on University matters.

Create strong divisional and University-wide collaborations that promote efficiency and benefit students.

Create a culture of “telling our story,” celebrating our successes, and enhancing our opportunities for improvement.

Promote and enhance student and staff well-being and resiliency grounded in the foundations of Rowan Thrive.

Develop and implement activities, events, programs, and services which intentionally engage in diversity education, culture development, and climate shaping.

Create intentional opportunities for the development, incubation, and support of student leadership, University “ownership,” and community (on and off campus) engagement/pride.

Create an experiential, residential community which is the first choice of students and intentionally grounded by the tenets of experiential learning, learning communities, and a Rowan-specific residential curriculum.
