SCCA Signature Events

The Chamberlain Student Center & Campus Activities is proud to have several signature events/traditions that we host each year. Some of these include:

  • Rowan Food Truck Festival - Hosted by the Student University Programmers, this event is held during Welcome Week as a way to welcome all Rowan students back to campus. The event features several food trucks, games, and music.
  • Profs Place TriviaHeld every Wednesday night at 9:00pm in Profs Place on the ground floor of the building, trivia hosts nights full of themed or general trivia for teams or individuals to compete to see who knows it all.
  • South Jersey Vendor Showcase - This campus tradition allows local vendors to visit campus and highlight their products and services to the Rowan community.
  • SUP Movie Nights  - Every other Tuesday night at 9:15pm in the Student Center Ballroom, SUP screens recent Blockbuster movies. One of SUP's oldest traditions these movies are free with your student Rowan ID and also feature free food and giveaways.
  • Homecoming - The SCCA is proud to partner with the Office of Alumni Engagement to sponsor various student-facing events & competitions throughout the annual Homecoming week. A perfect opportunity for everyone to show how #RowanPROUD they are - this is one of our favorite campus traditions!
  • Profs Spotlight - Held on Mondays each month at 9:00pm in Profs Place on the ground floor of the building, this event allows students to perform in an open mic setting to showcase their talents for the Rowan community. Sponsored by the Student University Programmers.
  • Holiday Helper - In 2016, the Student University Programmers celebrated the 50th anniversary of Holiday Helper. This event is rich in tradition and features donated items and baskets from local business and families that are auctioned off to benefit various local charities. In 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic this event transitioned to a virtual format, which it has remained and only allows us to reach more members of the Rowan community!
  • Last Lecture - Hosted by the Student University Programmers, this event allows the Rowan community to nominate a faculty or staff member to deliver their hypothetical last lecture, which is based on the book The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch.
  • St. Baldrick's Day - Hosted by the Student University Programmers in April, this event helps raise awareness and funds for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, all of which go towards pediatric cancer research.
  • Haunted Student Center - In 2017, the SCCA hosted the 15th annual Haunted Student Center. This longstanding tradition invites children from the Rowan and local community on to campus for a safe and fun trick-or-treating environment. This event is traditionally held the last Friday before Halloween.
  • Lil' Sibs Weekend - Organized by the Student University Programmers, this weekend highlights various events hosted by campus departments and Rowan After Hours that allows Rowan students to bring their siblings (ages 5-18) on to campus to experience life as a college student. Some events include Lil' Sibs Bingo, SibsFest, and a brunch with the Prof.
  • Hollybash - Started in the spring of 2016, this event is a full afternoon outdoor festival that features rides, lawn games, performances, food trucks, novelties and so much more! This event also features a large concert, which thus far has brought acts such as Tai Verdes (2023), Noah Cyrus (2022), Kyle (2019), Andy Grammer (2018), Mike Posner (2017) & American Authors (2016) to campus.
  • Cram Jam - This annual event is held at the end of each semester and allows students to stay in the building from 10:00pm - 6:00am as a quiet study space, to get free massages, and to enjoy snacks all before the first day of finals.
