2. Where can I go for confidential support, counseling and psychological services?
For students on the Glassboro Campus: Confidential support is available at t the Wellness Center, Winans Hall at 856-256-4333. Rowan's Counseling and Psychological Services provides emergency services available to on the Glassboro campus.
For CMSRU medical students: Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) has partnered with the Student Wellness Program (SWP) through Rutgers University to provide confidential counseling services.
For SOM medical students and residents: Confidential counseling services by dialing 856-482-9000 or via the WellConnect resource, short-term therapy 24/7. Please refer to the SOM Health and Resources for additional information.
For Employees: If you are an employee and in need of confidential counseling services, contact the State of NJ Employee Advisory Service (EAS) at toll free number 1-866-327-9133.
3. What are some victim advocacy organizations and services that I may be able to benefit from?
The following victim advocacy and support services are only a phone call away, each offer a 24/7 hotline for immediate help.
Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV) provides free counseling, victim advocacy for victims and witnesses to court appearances. Call 24/7 hotline to speak to a crisis counselor anonymously at 1-866-295-7378 or 856-881-3335
New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NJCASA) offers support to survivors, 24/7 hotline 1-800-601-7200.
State of New Jersey, Department of Children and Families, Services for Women provides crisis intervention, information, referral services and advocacy for women, statewide, 24/7 confidential hotline: 1 (800) 572-SAFE (7233).
Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network free, confidential, national sexual assault hotline 24/7. Call 1-800-656-HOPE. Also offers online chatting with a trained RAINN support specialist, anytime.

Th National Domestic Violence Hotline is available to you, 24/7. Call 1-800-799-7233 or 1-800-787-3224 for TTY, or if you’re unable to speak safely, you can log onto thehotline.org or text LOVEIS to 22522.
Suicide Prevention: If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide you may call 988, visit your nearest emergency room, or call the Wellness Center at 856-256-4333.
The FUTURES Policy Team in Washington D.C. helps secure direct support for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault. An extensive list of resources and help for survivors, communities and DV/SA programs can be found on their website.
Scholarships for Victims of Domestic Violence is a website that lists opening dates for scholarship programs geared towards victims of domestic violence who are pursuing higher education.
4. Where can I go locally for medical assistance or for a forensic exam?
Gloucester County Sexual Assault Response Team (S.A.R.T.) provides compassionate, coordinated services to victims of sexual assault. Call 856-384-5555 or visit Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office Victim Witness Website.
Rowan students may go to any one of the local hospitals listed below. Each are equipped with forensic nurses specially trained to care for victims of sexual assault and to conduct a medical evidence collection kit.

Victims of Crime Compensation Office (VCCO)
The Victim of Crime Compensation Office provides compensation to certain victims of violent crime for some expenses they suffer as a result of the crime. In carrying out it’s mission, the VCCO is mindful of the special needs of those victimized by crime and their right to be treated with fairness, compassion and respect.
Legal Resources for those Facing Criminal Charges:
Southern New Jersey Legal Services: A non-profit organization that provides legal representation to low-income individuals, 1-800-496-4570.
State of New Jersey Office of the Public Defender: If you have been charged with a crime and cannot afford an attorney. For those in the Gloucester Region the Office of the Public Defender is located at 65 Newton Ave., Eastwood Prof. Bldg. Woodbury, NJ 08096 / 856- 853-4188.
Gloucester County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service: Refers clients to a private attorney in a specific area of the law. These include family law, estate planning, landlord/tenant disputes, personal injury, and criminal matters, as well as many others. 856-848-4589.
6. What resources can OSEC offer to help educate students, faculty, and staff?
For Students and Employees:
Students, faculty, and staff can take advantage of online video resources featured on our website on topics such as domestic violence, bystander intervention and consent.
OSEC also offers online sexual assault for ALL first –year students and employees on all campus sites including our medical schools. Not Anymore is an award winning program interactive program highly recognized throughout by institutions across the country. Rowan University is proud to include this online module as part of its prevention awareness program in the fight against campus sexual violence. The online module features focuses on sexual assault, dating and domestic violence and stalking. Warning signs of an unhealthy intimate relationship is also covered in the course material.
For Employees:
Many employees new to Title IX are often unsure of their role and obligation to our students as Responsible Employees. The Office of Student Equity and Compliance (OSEC) has created a Responsible Employee Reporting Guide in order to aid you in navigating the process. To learn more click HERE.
