Where's My Money?

Did you complete a FAFSA? You need to submit a new FAFSA every year. It is important returning students complete their FAFSA application no later than April 15th each year. If you did a FAFSA, you must include our school code, otherwise we will not get a copy of it. Our school code is 002609. Read more »

Did you lose your eligibility? If your GPA is below a 2.0 or you have withdrawn from a large number of classes, you may have a financial aid suspension per our Satisfactory Academic Progress policy. Read more »

Are you enrolled half-time? In order to be eligible for most aid programs, you must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits for undergraduate programs, 4.5 credits for graduate programs). Even if you are enrolled half-time, the money will not pay to your account until your classes start and your professor confirms your attendance (see related question below).

Did all of your classes start? In order to be eligible for financial aid, you need to be enrolled at least half-time. Other aid programs such as the TAG grant requires full-time enrollment. The Pell grant amount is prorated based on the number of credits you take. Even though the semester starts, your funding won't pay to your account until your classes have met AND your professor has marked you as "attending" for class list verification.

For example, if you are enrolled in 12 credits and 6 credits start at the beginning of the semester, you will get your student loans and part of your Pell grant once your professor confirms your attendance because you will be technically attending half-time. If your last two classes start mid-way through the semester, you won't get any TAG money until those classes meet and your professors mark you as attending. PS- Attendance does count in online classes!

Did you complete Verification? Verification is required in order for us to determine your eligibility for financial aid. No aid will be released until verification is complete. Read more »

Is it too early to see your money? While the FAFSA application is available in October of the year before school starts (October 2017 was when the FAFSA became available for the 2018-2019 school year), we do not process aid for continuing students until June before school starts. Exception: New incoming students will get a preliminary award letter sent to them via email soon after acceptance to Rowan University. If it is before June, you should not expect to have any aid to accept in Self-Service Banner.

Did you accept your award? You can accept your award once emailed that it is ready. Before a new academic year you can expect your award in June. Read more »

Did you complete your Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Loan Entrance Counseling? All new first-time borrowers need to complete these items before we can disburse loans to your account. You will get a reminder email shortly after accepting your loans if you need to complete one or both of these items. Read more »

Are you waiting on a private loan to pay? Some lenders require students to self-certify their loan. Please keep an eye on your email for any communication from your lender. Once financial aid certifies the loan, there is a 2-week right-to-cancel period and the loan will not disburse until this window passes.

Are you graduating in December or Winter Session? If an undergraduate student is graduating in December, your loans may be subject to proration reducing the amount of direct loans the student can borrow. Read more »

Are you expecting a refund of excess aid? Refunds are processed by the Bursar's Office. The quickest way to get your refund is by enrolling in eRefund. Questions about refunds should be directed to the Bursar.

To Enroll: Log on to Banner Self-Service and select the "Bursar" tab.  Select "ePay Center" from the men, and then select "View Bills and Make Payment". Once you are directed to the ePay Center, select "Refund Account Setup". Enter your routing and checking account numbers and review your entries before submitting to avoid delays with processing your refund.
