Testing

The boats were testing on performance during the relay race. At first, 3 rounds of relays were played with the side winning best of 3 rounds won. However, a few rounds were played aftering switching around teams to ensure fairness. We asked all teams to time how long their individual boats took to travel their own lanes and raced the fastest two boats against each other.

During the first work-shop, the sucess rate of boat performance was 3/6 as students paddles were not made to the quality expected. With readjustments to the paddle, specifically bending the wires prior to the activity,  he boats from then on had an 5/6 or 6/6 success rate meaning all boats were able to travel the distance of their entire lane. The boats travel time averaging about ~20 seconds to reach the end of their lanes with the fastest time being 13 seconds and the slowest being 39 seconds. Some boats did require minor modifications once entering the pond, most issues coming from the duct tape unsticking to the paddle due to the water. This was easily fixed with extra duct tape.
