About Your RowanCard
What is the RowanCard used for?
Your RowanCard is the official photo identification of the University and should be carried at all times. Although it is one card, it has four functions and gives students access to many privileges. The RowanCard takes away the need to carry cash and debit/credit cards, as it can be used for a variety of services that students may need.
The RowanCard is used for Identification purposes, for your Meal Plan, for your Dining Dollar Allotment, for your Rowan Bucks allotment, and for Door Access. Rowan Bucks and Dining Dollars can be used at a variety of locations, both on and off-campus.
Since the RowanCard is your offical identification while on campus, there are a couple of expectations regarding the photo:
- You're hair must not cover your face in the photograph
- You may not pose with any objects in the photograph
- You may not make any "funny faces" in the photograph included but not limited to: sticking your tongue out, closing your eyes, or contorting your face in any way
- You may not wear sunglasses, hats, hoods, or any other articles of clothing that may obstruct your face in the photograph
- No one else may be in the photograph with you
The photo on the card identifies the carrier as the owner of the card. The card also identifies a person's status on campus (i.e., student, faculty, staff, affiliate), entitling him or her to a specific set of privileges. A swipe of the magnetic stripe on the back of the card or tapping the card on some readers will give cardholders access to a multitude of services both on- and off-campus.
The RowanCard is the property of Rowan University and is non-transferable. Only the person whose photo is on the card will be permitted to spend funds from the accounts on the card. Cards will be confiscated if presented by someone other than the cardholder or if the card is involved in inappropriate or illegal use. Fraudulent use of another person's card will result in disciplinary action.
You can add funds to your account, check your balance, and view your transaction history at any time.
You can also Check Your ID ISO Number which will allow you to have food delivered to campus while using your RowanCard funds. For information on how to identify that number, click here.
Meal plans are housed on your RowanCard. For more information on meal plans, click here.
At the end of the academic year, you can request to Close Your Account. This would result in any Rowan Bucks balances over $10.00 being refunded. Please fill out all information regarding closing your account. Please note that unused meal plans, Dining Dollars, Meal SV amounts, or Free Printing funds will not be refunded. For more information about closing your account, click here.
There are many locations that will allow you to use your free printing allocation. Mimosa Hall, James Hall, Bunce Hall, the Library, and the Business building all have open computer labs. You can make copies using your printing allocation at the Library or by putting in a request through Duplicating.
Your RowanCard may be used to gain access to your residential building. There are two residence halls (Holly Pointe Commons and Rowan Boulevard) that operate entirely on swipe access and several residence halls that operate on swipe access for primary access to the hall.
Your RowanCard will also give you access to different computer labs and study spaces on campus. It can also be used to gain access to the library during its hours of operations.
Your ID is used to gain access to a variety of events such as Rowan After Hours, events put on by Student University Programmers, academic events, and sporting events.
