Admission Requirements for Current Rowan Students
Thank you for your interest in joining our Honors community. The Martinson Honors College is for academically motivated and curious students who want to participate with others in rewarding and enhanced educational experiences. The undergraduate experience in Honors is personified by our motto, “think, thrive, share.” We develop socially and civically-minded leaders active in participation and service within and beyond Honors, while our innovative and interdisciplinary curriculum, alongside extracurricular activities, fosters an understanding and appreciation of cultures and the arts.
We welcome current Rowan students to apply in the fall semester for spring semester entry. Current students are not eligible to apply for fall semester entry into Honors.

Admissions FAQs
Who is eligible to apply?
- Students who can actively participate in our program for a minimum of four (4) semesters (fall and spring terms)
- Students who are enrolled in full time in-person undergraduate programs
- Students must be able to incorporate at least one (1) Honors course into their first semster in Honors in order to be fully accepted into the program
- Students who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Students in their first semester at Rowan who do not yet have a GPA are welcome to apply and may be offered conditional admittance pending review of their fall semester grades
How do I apply?
The Spring 206 application is closed.
The next opportunity for current students to apply will be in Fall 2026 for Spring 2027 admission.
Step 1: Complete the Martinson Honors College Spring 2026 Application for Current Rowan Students as early as possible but no later than Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at 11:59pm.
Step 2: Provide your recommender with the link to complete the Spring 2026 Honors College Recommendation Form. Ask that they complete the form as early as possible but no later than Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at 11:59pm.
Your completed Honors Application and Honors Recommendation Form will be reviewed by the Honors Admissions Committee. Once reviewed, you will receive a decision via email in early December.

The Martinson Honors College Spring 2026 Application for Current Rowan Students opens on October 1st, 2025 and is due as early as possible, but no later than Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at 11:59pm.
The Spring 2026 Honors Recommendation Form is due as early as possible but no later than Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at 11:59pm.What are the program requirements?
- Maintain your status as a full time student in an in-person undergraduate program at Rowan University
- Complete the Honors curriculum (typically one in-person Honors course per semester)
- Complete the Honors co-curricular participation requirements each term
- Earn a 3.5 cumulative GPA by graduation
Honors Application Things to Consider
- Application materials should be the student’s own work; the use of generative AI is strictly prohibited. The Honors Admissions Committee reserves the right to deny any application where AI is utilized.
- A critical component of the Honors Application is the essay. Applicants should take time to review and properly respond to the essay prompt. We recommend that applicants draft their response in a separate document prior to submission.
- The Honors Application asks for you to provide the name and email address of your Honors Recommender.
- It is your responsilibity to provide your recommender with the Honors Recommendation Form link. The Honors Office will not email your recommender.
- The Honors Recommendation Form must be completed by the recommender listed on your application, recommendations submitted by the applicant will not be considered.
- The Honors Recommendation Form should be completed by someone who can speak to your potential success within the Honors College. Typically, this is a former teacher, guidance counselor, advisor or someone who can speak about your success.
- The Honors Admissions Committee will only review your application and one recommendation; multiple recommendations will not be considered.
