Get ready for an epic game day experience that kicks off with a truly unforgettable tailgate! We're excited to invite you to come together as members of the Rowan community to have a blast and create lasting memories. As part of our Homecoming Celebration, we have reserved three exclusive tailgate zones for alumni and students to gather and connect with fellow Profs.

Registration is required and closes on at 11:59 p.m. on October 9.

Tailgate Policies

Pre-registrants are strongly encouraged to attend one virtual information session to learn more about the 2023 Homecoming Tailgate. Information sessions will take place on the following dates and times:

● Wednesday, September 27 at 7 p.m.
● Thursday, September 28 at 12:00 p.m.

Each organization interested in tailgating must register, members of the organization do not need to individually register. Once your organization is registered, please notify your members so that duplicated submissions are not received.

More information about how to join will be sent to the email address you provide when registering.

Food Trucks and Grilling Guidelines

Student attendees will receive $10 in tickets to use for the food trucks as long as they swipe in with their Rowan student ID at the Welcome Tent located along Stadium Drive. Alumni and non-student guests interested in purchasing lunch can do so at any of the food trucks. Food trucks accept cash and credit.

Grilling Guidelines

  • Grilling must be done 50 feet from a building
  • Each participant with a grill MUST have a fire extinguisher within 10 feet at all times
  • If using charcoal, participants must wait until all briquettes are completely done then doused with water to ensure it will not reignite
  • No grilling can occur within 10 feet of any combustible
  • No grilling can occur under any building overhang
  • No deep fryers are permitted

Space and Supplies

Space in Parking Lot O is guaranteed to all those who pre-register by October 6. Placement in these lots is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants will be able to select their tailgate area of choice upon arrival.

Please note, alumni and student tailgaters will not be permitted to set up or drop off materials prior to 8:00 a.m. regardless of what area they choose to tailgate in. Those tailgating in Lot O will be asked to vacate Parking Lot O starting at 6:00 p.m.

Tables, chairs, tents and other supplies are NOT provided to student and alumni groups that are tailgating. Groups must arrange to bring in their own materials, as well as clean them up after the tailgate is finished. The Homecoming Committee, nor Rowan University or any of its affiliates, are responsible for items that are left behind.

Vehicle Policies

Parking Lot O will open to those who pre-register at 8:00 a.m. Vehicles may drop off their belongings beginning at that time. Tailgaters will not be permitted to set up or drop off materials prior to 8:00 a.m. All vehicles must exit Parking Lot O by 10:30 a.m. to ensure a safe environment for all participants. No vehicles will be allowed to enter Parking Lot O after 10:15 a.m.

While loading and unloading, we ask that all vehicle engines be turned off.

For the safety of all guests, no vehicles may be brought back into Lot O prior to 6:00 p.m. Rowan University staff will be available from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. to assist tailgaters with clean-up by transporting materials to their vehicles parked in surrounding lots.

Music and Noise Policies

The Homecoming Committee will broadcast pre-recorded music throughout Parking Lot O-1 between 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Alumni and student groups participating in the tailgates in Lot O will be permitted to play music from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the exception of guests participating in the Football, Cheerleading, and Marching Band Families Tailgate area who will be asked to shut down their music at 2:00 p.m. (game time). Between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., participants are asked to keep their music at a moderate level and to limit explicit content. Starting at 2:00 p.m., speakers in the Student and Alumni and NPHC and Multicultural Organization areas should be directed towards the softball fields to eliminate interfering with game play inside the football stadium. Guest DJs are permitted and may use their own sound systems.

Please note, no music of any kind will be permitted in any lot for a brief period from 1:50 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. when the National Anthem is played inside Richard Wackar Stadium.

Clean-Up

Participants are responsible for the garbage in their area. Please come prepared with your own garbage bags.

For your convenience, trash bins will be provided throughout the tailgate area. Facilities will be emptying trash bins throughout the event. The last trash pick-up will be at 6:00 p.m.

Please be respectful of our University community by removing any and all trash after the tailgate. Additional trash bags will be provided throughout the tailgate if needed.

Register here by 11:59 p.m. on October 9.
