Federal Work Study Hiring Process (off-campus)

Employers may register and sign-up to participate in Rowan's off-campus Federal Work Study (FWS) Program.  Funding for this program is limited and is granted to eligible students on a first come, first serve basis.  The majority of students secure employment in early Fall.  We recommend employers follow the following timeline to increase the likelihood of securing FWS students:
Summer: Complete step 1, 2, 3
Early Fall: Complete steps 4-6

1) Employers must acknowledge, complete, and sign the following documents:

These completed documents should be emailed to Deniz Dennery at dennery@rowan.edu.

These documents will be reviewed to see if your organization meets the requirements for the Federal Work Study Program (FWS).  This may take approximately 2-3 weeks for the review to be complete.

2) Rowan's Office of Career Advancement will contact you and inform you if your organization is approved to participate in the FWS program.

3) Next, employers need to post their opportunity(s) on Rowan University’s ProfsJobs system. Instructions on this system can be located here. All students have access to this system to search for opportunities.

4) Employers review student resumes and decide which students to interview. Confirm with Deniz Dennery (dennery@rowan.edu) prior to the interview that the students are eligible for the program.

5) Interview selected students and make job offer(s).

6) Prior to the student's start date, the selected student(s) must meet with Deniz Dennery to complete Rowan University Human Resources and Payroll forms. This process may take 1-2 weeks to complete. The student will notify their employer when they are available to start.
