Let's Make a Change
Stop Food Waste mission is simple:Reduce Food Waste through education and awareness. |
DID YOU KNOW...we partner with the Rowan Food Recovery Network to reduce campus food waste?
Each week our team packages the leftover food from our dining locations that would otherwise go uneaten to be donated to the Food Recovery Network. Their team then redistributes the food to three organizations including two shelters for elderly and developmentally disabled individuals and one shelter that serves women and children.
To date in 2021 we have donated over 1,308lbs of food!

DID YOU KNOW...how much damage a single plastic straw creates?
-
A plastic straw has a lifespan of about 20 minutes before it is thrown away, typically ending up in a landfill or polluting our oceans.
-
19 million pounds of plastic winds up in the ocean each year with 90% of marine animals having eaten some form of plastic.
-
Americans use an estimated 500 million straws per day- roughly the weight of 1000 cars, or enough to wrap around the earth 2.5 times a day!
-
Straws are made in 10 minutes, used in 20, and remain on earth forever since they are not biodegradable
