 SCOTT WOODSIDE, M.S.N., M.B.A., R.N. | Assistant Vice President for Community Health and Well-being
Scott is the Assistant Vice President for Community Health and Well-being. He is a graduate of Villanova University with a Bachelor in Nursing and completed his Masters in Business Administration and Nursing from LaSalle University. Scott has experience in cardiovascular health, critical care, emergency preparedness, and most recently in public health, where he served as the Director of Nursing for the Gloucester County Department of Health, Senior and Disability Services.  

Amy Hoch AMY HOCH, Psy.D. | Associate Director of the Wellness Center
Dr. Hoch received her Psy.D. from Pace University in New York City in 1997. Her professional interests include sexual violence, trauma, sexual health, relationships, and risky behaviors including self-injury, substance abuse, eating disorders, and suicide. Her theoretical orientation includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Ann Villinski 

 

 


 ANN VILLINSKI, Ph.D. | Licensed Psychologist, Associate Director of Counseling and Psychological Services
Dr. Villinski received her Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1990. Her professional interests include culturally sensitive and affirmative therapies, crisis intervention, clinical supervision, identity development and life transitions, gender identity and sexual orientation, suicidal depression recovery, and trauma recovery. Her theoretical orientation is integrative, including Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Interpersonal, Cognitive Behavioral, Trauma-Focused, and Mindfulness.

Jillian Threadgill JILLIAN THREADGILL, Psy.D. | Licensed Psychologist, Associate Director of Counseling and Psychological Services
Dr. Threadgill received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama in 2005 and her Psy.D. from Immaculata University in 2015. Her areas of professional interest include trauma, anxiety, substance abuse, mood disorders, psychological testing, working with veteran populations, and working with graduate student parents. Her theoretical orientation is integrative, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.



Alyssa Kwon ALYSSA KWON, M.D. | Psychiatrist
Dr. Kwon received her M.D. from the Catholic University of Korea in 2001. Her professional areas of interest include child & adolescent psychiatry, anxiety disorders, autistic spectrum disorders, and psychopharmacology.



Gabe Aquino GABRIEL AQUINO, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.  |  Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Crisis Management Clinician
Mr. Aquino received his Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University. His theoretical orientation is broadly Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy with integrated components of mindfulness, art, and emotion regulation. His clinical interests include treating depression, anxiety, grief & loss, and issues surrounding race, sexuality, and spirituality.

Revae Burton REVAÉ BURTON, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.  |  Licensed Clinical Social Worker and
Outreach Coordinator

Ms. Burton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master of Social Service degree from Bryn Mawr College in 2007. Her clinical interests are anxiety, grief/loss, life changes, and issues surrounding minority or underserved populations, in terms of race, gender, disabilities, and sexuality. Her theoretical orientation is strengths perspective and integrative, which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.

Romana BresinROMANA BRESIN, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist | Coordinator for Gender and Sexual Diversities Services 
Dr. Bresin (she/her) received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2013. Her areas of professional interest include individual and group therapy, clinical supervision, gender identity, sexual orientation, and multicultural/diversity concerns. Her theoretical orientation is integrative, drawing largely from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Theory.

Stacey Cahn STACEY CAHN, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist | Assistant Director of Integrated
Behavioral Health
Dr. Cahn received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University and her BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Her areas of clinical interest include eating, weight, and body image disorders as well as clinical training. Her theoretical orientation is broadly cognitive-behavioral.

Ms. Tina Green counselor TINA GREEN, MFT, L.P.C. / Licensed Professional Counselor | Crisis Management Clinician
Ms. Green received her Master’s Degree in Family Therapy from Drexel University. Her clinical interests include Anxiety, Trauma, Grief/Loss, Acculturation, Cultural Identity, Neurodiversity, and Substance-Related Disorders. Her theoretical orientation is integrative and strengths-based including techniques in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, Multicultural Counseling, Spiritual Counseling, and Art Therapy.

Andrea Leach ANDREA LEACH, M.S.W., L.C.S.W. | Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Coordinator of Group Services
Ms. Leach (she/her) received her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. Her areas of professional interest include individual and group therapy, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse, culturally sensitive and affirmative therapies, crisis intervention, identity development and life transitions, gender identity and sexual orientation, and suicidal depression recovery. Bob Logan BOB LOGAN, M.S., L.C.A.D.C. | Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor
Mr. Logan received his M.S. in Human Services from Capella University in 2012. His professional interests include screening and assessment, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and substance use disorders in college settings. His theoretical orientation includes Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Colette McLean COLETTE MCLEAN, M.S.W., L.C.S.W. | Licensed Clinical Social Worker,
Coordinator of Group Services, Co-Coordinator-Training Program
Ms. McLean received her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University in 1998. She provides individual, group, and family therapy; along with training and consultation.  She often treats students going through recovery from trauma and abuse, life transitions, and struggling with anxiety and depression. Her theoretical approaches are behavioral, person-centered, and mindfulness-based. She has received extensive training and supervision in orientations such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, with an overall approach to treatment being built from the place of a strong therapeutic relationship.

Manny PerryMANNY PERRY, M.S.W, L.C.S.W. | Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Mr. Perry (he/him/his) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He received his Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University in 2018, and his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stockton University in 2010. His clinical interests include mood disorders, generalized anxiety and OCD, trauma work, and LGBTQIA+ issues. His theoretical orientation is integrative drawing on principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, holistic wellness, cultural awareness, and cognitive processing techniques.

Helen Polak HELEN POLAK, Psy.D. | Licensed Psychologist, Co-Coordinator -Training Program
Dr. Polak received her Psy.D. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her professional interests
include individual psychotherapy, structured groups, and workshops, training and supervision,
consultation, and working with students struggling with emotional dysregulation, and major life
transitions. Her theoretical orientation is integrative and includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy,
Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.

 ANNA STADTMUELLER, Psy.D. Licensed Psychologist, Co-Coordinator of Stress Management and Response Team (SMART)


Dr. Stadtmueller graduated from Immaculata University’s Clinical Psychology Psy.D. program in 2020.  Her professional interests include working with students who experience food and/or housing insecurity, family difficulties, impulsivity, perfectionism, and trauma.  Her clinical approach is integrative and holistic, incorporating concepts from DBT, RO-DBT, psychodynamic approach, and health psychology.

Tracey Swain TRACEY SWAIN, M.S.W, L.C.S.W. | Licensed Clinical Social Worker 
Ms. Swain is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University.  Her professional interests include anxiety disorders, life transitions, autism spectrum disorders, and ADHD.  Her theoretical orientation is integrative and includes Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered. 

Lisa Twardzik LISA TWARDZIK, M.A., L.P.C. | Licensed Professional Counselor, Coordinator of Mental Health Services to the Office of Accessibility
Ms. Twardzik is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling in Educational Settings and a certification in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rowan University. Her professional interests include anxiety, depression, perfectionism, neurodiversity, and trauma. Her theoretical orientation is integrative and includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and EMDR.

Melissa Young MELISSA YOUNG, L.C.S.W., C-TRCI, CYT | Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Crisis Management Clinician, Co-Coordinator of Stress Management and Response Team (SMART)  pronouns: she/her
Mrs. Young received her Master of Social Work degree from Widener University in 2011 and later became licensed to practice as a clinical social worker. Her areas of professional interest include treating trauma, and anxiety/anxiety-related.

Heidi has been working at Rowan University since 2007. She currently manages the electronic health records software system for the Wellness Center and oversees compliance for incoming students.

ALLIE PEARCE, MA | Assistant Director, Health Innovation and Quality Assurance
Allie Pearce, MA  has been at the Rowan University Wellness Center since it opened in 2013. She was the assistant director for a successful health education department, Healthy Campus Initiatives, from 2011-2023. Currently, she is the Assistant Director for Health Innovation & Quality Assurance at the Wellness Center where she focuses on student and employee training, policy implementation, and grant acquisition. She is trained as an instructor in Mental Health First Aid, Green Dot, and QPR, and has recently completed training as a Disaster Relief Crisis Counselor with the state of New Jersey.


 

Student Health Services Staff 

 Marta Diaz-Pupek MARTA DIAZ-PUPEK, D.O., F.A.A.P., F.A.C.O.P. | Managing Physician
Dr. Diaz received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a pediatric residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Before joining Rowan University, Dr. Diaz was employed at Nemours in Wilmington, Delaware where she worked as a primary care physician for just over 12 years and an urgent care physician for just over 10 years. Dr. Diaz enjoys teaching her patients about preventive medicine: staying healthy (well-being) and safety. She also enjoys volunteering and was on the Board of Directors for Delaware Guidance Services for Children & Youth, Inc. for 18 years. She is currently a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald’s House-DE, and she is currently President of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP) and has been involved with this organization in different committees providing advocacy for children, adolescents, and young adults. She has been involved with continuing medical education (CME) for healthcare providers for many years as both Program Director and as a presenter at national conferences.

Ann Grasso ANN GRASSO, B.S.N., R.N. | Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse
Ann Grasso graduated from Gloucester County Community College School of Nursing in 2006. She worked in the Rehab Unit at Lady of Lourdes Medical Center for 3 years and private-duty nursing. Ann came to Rowan in 2009 and recently completed a sign language course at Gloucester County Community College. In her spare time, Ann enjoys yoga and other fitness activities.

 Kathleen Dolan KATHY DOLAN, M.S.N., F.N.P.-B.C. | Nurse Practitioner
Kathleen Dolan joined the Student Health Service staff in 2015. Kathleen has a background in Orthopedics/Trauma, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Emergency Department, Pain Management, and Telemedicine. Past employers include Hahnemann, Thomas Jefferson, Lankenau, and Kennedy Health Systems. In addition to inpatient, outpatient, and ED experience, Kathleen is experienced in-home care and hospice. Kathleen received B.S.N. and M.S.N. degrees from Drexel University and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Kathleen served on a medical mission to Haiti in 2013. Kathleen enjoys educating students on health and wellness and spending time with family and friends antiquing, enjoying the creative arts and sports.

Charmaine Thomas CHARMAINE THOMAS, M.S.N., F.N.P.-B.C.  | Nurse Practitioner
Charmaine Thomas joined the Student Health Service staff in 2018. Charmaine has a background in Emergency Medicine (Adult and Pediatric), Cardiac Medicine, Intensive Care, and Adult and Pediatric Primary Care. Past employers include Shore Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and CAMcare Health Corporation. Charmaine received her B.S.N. from the University of Delaware and M.S.N. in Family Medicine from Stockton University. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Charmaine focuses her care on teaching individuals about their conditions as well as their well-being. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in dance classes and spending time with family and friends.

Robin VarelaROBIN VARELA, M.S.N., P.N.P.-B.C.  | Nurse Practitioner
Robin Varela joined the Student Health Service staff in 2022. Prior to joining Rowan, Robin spent 10 years practicing pediatric primary care in Woodbury, New Jersey where she particularly enjoyed working with adolescent and young adult patients. Additionally, Robin spent 5 years teaching graduate-level nursing students at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Robin received her B.S.N. and M.S.N. degrees at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Robin enjoys educating patients on optimizing their physical and emotional health. In her free time, Robin loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling to her hometown of New York City, enjoying the restaurant scene in Philadelphia, and strengthening her spinning/indoor cycling skills. 

Michele nurse MICHELE ALBRECHT, B.S.N., R.N.  | Registered Nurse
Michele Albrecht joined the Student Health Service staff in 2022. She graduated from Rowan College at Burlington County School of Nursing in 2021 and received her B.S.N from Rowan University in May of 2022. Before joining Rowan, Michele spent 24 years as a Cosmetologist, catering to clients of all ages. In her free time, Michele enjoys spending time with her children, family, and friends.

Nurse MelissaMELISSA SHOCKEY, B.S.N., R.N. | Registered Nurse
Melissa joined the Wellness Center in August 2021 as a full-time staff nurse. Melissa received her B.S.N. from the University of Pittsburgh. She has a background in Transplant, Trauma, Surgery, Home Care, School Nursing, and Research. Past employers include The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Tulane University, and Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, Bayada Home Health Care, Gloucester County Special Services School District, and Harrison Township School District. Melissa enjoys teaching the students at Rowan about health and wellness. Melissa enjoys spending time with family and friends, a day at the shore, walking her dog, reading, gardening, cooking, sports, and musical theater.

Sandy Spina Nurse SANDI SPINA, R.N. / Registered Nurse 
Sandi Spina joined the Wellness Center staff in 2022. She graduated from Gloucester County Community College in 1999 and started her Nursing career at TJUH-Center City, in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Most recently, and for the last 19 years, she has been a RN at Virtua Voorhees in Labor and Delivery; helping to deliver lots and lots of babies over the years! In her time off, Sandi enjoys time with her family and friends. She loves to vacation- especially at the beach. She is a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, and she LOVES Yoga!

RITA BOWEN, M.S.N., B.S.N. / Registered Nurse 

Judi Maleno JUDI MALENO| Certified Medical Assistant 
Judi is currently a certified medical assistant working in healthcare since receiving her Associate's degree in Applied Science in 1986. She has been married to her husband Frank for 32 years. They have three awesome sons- Nick, 29,  Alex, 26, and Roman, 20.  The beach and water are her happy places, passing down her love of the island to her sons. Her family's beach house is always full and they have lots of great memories in their home away from home.

 

Emergency Medical Services Staff 

Vern Howery VERNON HOWERY | Operations Chief 
Vernon is the Chief of Operations for EMS services at Rowan University. Vernon started with Rowan Public Safety in 1989 as a Patrol Officer. In 1997 he was certified as an NJ. EMT D has 25 years of street EMS experience with several agencies. Vernon is a Certified MCI manager and also serves as the University Shelter Annex Manager with OEM. Vernon is responsible for the overall operation of the EMS unit as well as the Public Access AED program and serves as the liaison with Gloucester County, The Borough of Glassboro, The State Office of EMS, and various departments within the University.

Maribeth Novsak MARIBETH NOVSAK | Assistant Chief
Maribeth is the Assistant Chief of Rowan EMS. Maribeth was a student member from 2017-2021. She graduated from Rowan University in May 2021 with a B.A. in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management. Maribeth has advanced training in Incident Management including; shelter operations, Active Shooter Incident Management- Advanced, and Active Threat Incident Response. Maribeth has previously served Cape May County as an EMT. 

Brian Rubino BRIAN RUBINO
Brian Rubino is a Part-Time EMT in EMS. He primarily serves as a non-emergent Transport driver as well as an AED maintenance technician. As well as his official duties at Rowan EMS he also serves as a mentor to all of our members.  Brian became an EMT in 1994 and has served various agencies throughout New Jersey. Brian is an invaluable asset to Rowan EMS and the University as a whole. 


 

Shreiber Family Pet Therapy Program Staff 

Michele PichMichele Pich, M.A., M.S. | Assistant Director, Shreiber Family Pet Therapy Program
Adjunct Professor, Law & Justice Studies | Research Associate, College of Humanities & Social Sciences

Michele is the Assistant Director of the Shreiber Family Pet Therapy Program at Rowan University. She is a lifelong animal lover who brings over 10 years of experience in Pet Therapy, is a small business owner, has 18 years of experience in the mental health field, and 10 years of experience teaching University students (including at Rowan University since 2014), 15 years of experience conducting research, and over 20 years experience in animal rescue. She previously co-directed a pet visitation program at the University of Pennsylvania which partnered to bring visits to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. Michele and her certified therapy dog, Vivian Peyton have been members of the National Dog Show Therapy Dog Ambassador Team since 2012. Michele will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Shreiber Family Pet Therapy Program. 
 

Well-being & Rowan Thrive

Lindsay Johnson LINDSAY JOHNSON,  M.S.Ed., L.P.C., L.C.A.D.C., A.C.S. | Assistant Director, Well-being

Dr. Johnson (she/her) received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University in 2011 and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Rowan University in 2022. Lindsay is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She serves as the Assistant Director of Well-Being and works to integrate the Thrive framework into the Wellness Center and larger institutions. Lindsay is passionate about weaving well-being into all aspects of the university to create a supportive environment that fosters resiliency and meaningful living for all students, faculty, and staff. Lindsay has presented nationally and internationally on topics around well-being, values-based living, and prevention programming. She also loves to spend time with family and friends, travel, be silly, and do mostly anything sports-related.

 BRITTANY AULETA, MA | Assistant Director, Well-being Programming and Communication 
Brittany graduated from Rutgers-Camden with an undergraduate degree in Electronic Arts/Graphic Design. She received her M.A. in Wellness and Lifestyle Management, and her Graduate Certificate in Wellness Coaching both from Rowan University. She currently supports the marketing and communication within the Wellness Center and Rowan Thrive well-being initiatives across campus, specifically the annual Fresh Check Day, and is co-chair of the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. She is a certified QPR and Green Dot Instructor and is passionate about educating students, faculty, and staff on the importance of well-being in all forms.
