I just received my letter of acceptance. What’s next?
When is Transfer Student Orientation?
Transfer Student Orientation is required for all new students prior to the start of the semester. Please check the Office of Orientation and Student Leadership Program's website for additional details. When you make your Orientation reservations online, you will be presented with which date(s) are available for your specific major.
Due to COVID-19, ONLY online Orientations are being offered at this time.
Who is my academic advisor?
I need a transfer credit evaluation. When will I receive one?
After you are accepted by Office of Admissions, they electronically forward any official college-level transcripts they receive to the Registrar’s Office who will perform a transfer credit evaluation based upon existing articulations/course equivalencies. Once your credit evaluation is completed, you will be contacted by Office of Registrar with instructions to access the credit evaluation report. If you have credits from a NJ community/county college, you may be able to preview anticipated articulations/course equivalencies through Njtransfer.org.
If you are currently enrolled in classes for the current semester at another institution, remember to send a final transcript directly to the Office of the University Registrar at Rowan University once courses are completed and grades are posted in order to ensure that all of your credits are evaluated.
For more information about the transfer credit evaluation process and timeline, please click here.
How can I access my transfer credit evaluation?
Once your transfer credit evaluation is completed, you can view it on Self Service Banner. You can find your transfer credit evaluation listed on your Student Academic Transcript or Student Transfer Credit Report.
If you have never logged on to Self Service Banner, you can find instructions here. Keep in mind that since credit evaluations and postings take place on a rolling basis, if only a portion of your credits are posted, it is likely that your evaluation process is not yet complete and still under review.
What do I do if a course doesn’t transfer the way I expected?
If you disagree with a posted course equivalency or believe a mistake has been made in the process, click here to complete the credit appeal form. Include the course description and syllabus for the course taken, the course you feel you should have received credit for and a rationale for the appeal.
All decisions will be communicated to your Rowan University email address and, if approved, sent to the Office of the University Registrar.
What if the course I need is full or has a restriction?
How do I register for classes?
Check out the Registrar’s website for the registration dates and deadlines for the upcoming term. It includes step-by-step instructions on registering through Self Service Banner. This guide also has information on registration dates, so you know when you are eligible to register.
You can view list of available courses on Self Service Banner, or you can search for available courses through Section Tally.
What is DegreeWorks/GRAD?
DegreeWorks/GRAD is the online database used as an advising tool to help guide you and track your progress through your particular graduation requirements. It is managed by the Office of the University Registrar in coordination with academic departments/programs.
This system can be accessed through Self Service Banner at any time. You and your advisor are able to view past degree reports, generate new reports on current student data, or conduct a "what if" analysis for changing majors.
The system is for undergraduate students only and, while helpful, it is not an official degree audit and should not be treated as such. Remember to always confirm any schedule or program changes with your academic advisor.
