Youth Swim Lessons Policies
- Eligibility: Swim lessons are available for children ages 3-12 years old
-
-
-
- A child’s age is a limiting factor which may prohibit them from registering for all classes; in this case you will be registered manually by the department. Please contact Taylor Mullens, Assistant Director of Aquatics and Risk Management, via email at mullenst@rowan.edu.
-
-
- Registration is required before the first lesson. Spaces are limited and are filled on a first come, first serve basis
-
-
-
- Registration for a class ends prior to the first day of lessons to allow for instructor scheduling. If registration is closed and spots are still available, approval from the Assistant Director of Aquatics and Risk Management is required for any late registration and is not guaranteed.
-
-
- Waitlist: If a class is full, you will have the option to place your child on a waitlist through the registration portal. If you do not see the waitlist as an option, it means the waitlist has been filled.
- Levels: The swim lesson is taught based on skill level– for both group and private lessons. Please review the skill level descriptions to ensure your child is enrolled in the appropriate class.
-
-
-
- In order for a child to move to the next level, students must pass all skills listed for the particular level.
- Registration for the next level may be during a current session; please speak with your child’s instructor prior to registering for the next session to ensure your child is placed in the correct level.
-
-
- Duration: Lessons are scheduled for 30 mins, five consecutive weeks
- Attendance: Regular attendance is crucial for progress. Please arrive 10 minutes early to ensure the class starts on time.
- Tuition: Fees are due at the time of registration via the Fusion Member Portal
- Refunds: No refunds will be given for missed classes. If a class is canceled by the facility, a makeup class or credit will be provided.
- Transfers/Changes: If you need to transfer your child to a different class (level or time), please contact us prior to the closing of registration. We will do our best to accommodate the request, but cannot guarantee a change.
- Cancellations
-
-
-
- Any changes and/or cancellations to your registration must take place prior to the last day or registration to receive a full refund. Cancellations made after registration closes will result in a forfeiture of payment.
-
-
- Health Requirements: Children should be in good health and free from contagious illness. Please notify us of any medical conditions or allergies.
- Attire: Children must wear a properly fitting swimsuit. Swim caps and goggles are recommended but not required.
- Supervision: Parents must accompany their children into and out of the facility. During the swimming lesson, parents must remain in the designated waiting areas and observe their child’s lesson from a non-distracting distance. Parents will accompany their child anytime they need to use the locker rooms or family changing areas.
- Conduct: Positive behavior is expected. Disruptive behavior may result in removal from the class.
- Discipline: In the event of repeated behavioral issues, a meeting with the parent/guardian will be scheduled to discuss appropriate steps
- Make-Up Lessons
-
-
-
- Missed swim lessons cannot be transferred to another session, rescheduled, nor refunded.
- Make-up lessons will be held only if a lesson is canceled due to inclement weather, pool closing, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- In the case that your session does not offer a make-up lesson due to other University events or programming and a date is canceled for any of the reasons above, you will be offered a discount to apply to the next session of lessons.
-
-
- Weather: In the event of severe weather, lessons may be canceled. Updates will be provided via email.
- Facility Closures: Lessons will not be held on holidays or during facility maintenance period.
