Rowan offers more than 80 bachelor’s and 60 master’s degree programs, four doctoral programs and two professional programs.  Detailed information about our programs can be located here.  Rowan's student body comes from 33 states and 19 countries with an average SAT score of 1223.  

We are proud to announce that U.S. News & World Report has entered Rowan into its NATIONAL UNIVERSITY rankings category. The U.S. News 2018 Best Colleges ranking places Rowan University at #90 among the public institutions ranked and #171 overall among 311 national universities.  Rowan is 1 of only 3 universities in the US with M.D. and D.O. granting medical schools.  The university is one of just 56 institutions in the country with accredited programs in business, education, engineering and medicine.

What’s new at Rowan University since 2012 is opportunity, innovation and strategic, practical development led by Rowan as it:

  • became the nation’s sixth fastest-growing research institution.
  • earned state comprehensive public research university status and committed to focus on practical research at the intersection of engineering, medicine, science and technology.
  • founded Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and integrated the School of Osteopathic Medicine, making Rowan one of only three institutions in the nation with MD- and DO-degree granting schools.
  • initiated and completed the $426 million Rowan Boulevard project with public-private partners, expanding capacity for the institution and investing in the community.
  • worked with county colleges to deliver 3+1 bachelor’s degree programs for as low as $25,000 and collaborated with the business community to create programs that meet regional workforce needs.
  • totaled $1.2 billion in university and affiliated construction projects, either completed or in design, and planning for another $900 million.
  • drew more than 270 tenure-track faculty (since 2011) from across the country
  • expanded high-demand curricula to offer nearly 130 degree programs, including six at the doctoral level.
  • broadened collaborations including those with Lockheed Martin, NASA, NIH and FAA.
  • earned Carnegie R2 status (High Research Activity) in rapid succession following attainment of R3 (Moderate Research Activity) classification in 2016.

Improbable goals, undeniable progress

With Rowan’s respected reputation and responsible collaboration, the university is driving change that in just four years, quadrupled its outside research funding to increase work in health care, the environment, transportation and other critical areas.

And in just seven years, Rowan:

  • added 7,000 students to enroll nearly 19,500.
  • increased its operating budget from $261 million to $519 million.
  • tallied a $1.23 billion annual statewide economic impact.
  • earned ranking at 91st among the nation’s top public colleges and universities, according to U.S. News & World Report.
  • partnered with regional leaders to open a health sciences center in 2019 in Camden.
  • awarded the first $3.1 million of a $50 million pledge for groundbreaking medical and bioscience research.
  • kept undergraduate tuition at or below the expected rate of inflation (since 2014).
