Wellness
We know that wellness looks different for everyone, and our goal is to meet people where they are.
Our nutrition and wellness team is here to support everyday choices that lead to healthier, more balanced habits. We understand that wellness is a personal journey, and we're here to support each individual in their own way. Through workshops, conversations, and campus-wide initiatives, we aim to make nutrition feel more accessible and less overwhelming. We focus on building a solid foundation of knowledge, increasing awareness around important health topics, and helping the campus community feel more confident making food choices that support their overall well-being.

More Than a Meal
At the heart of our campus dining program is a commitment to supporting your overall well-being—mind, body, and beyond. Our wellness team works to create a dining experience that goes far beyond the plate, focusing on key areas that help you feel your best every day.
- Balanced Menu Options
We offer a variety of nutritious meals to fit different lifestyles and preferences—whether you're looking for plant-based choices, fueling up for a workout, or managing dietary needs. - Wellness Programming
Beyond the plate, we offer wellness initiatives that promote mindfulness, stress reduction, and healthy habits. Through dining hall events, resources, and education, we strive to help you build a balanced lifestyle that supports both your mental and physical health. - Allergen Management
Your safety is our priority. From ingredient experts to trained staff and personalized support, we’re here to help students with food allergies dine with confidence. For more information on our allergen processes and procedures, please visit our Food Allergens page
Balanced Options on Campus
A healthy diet is unique to each individual, as nutrition needs vary based on factors like gender, height, weight, activity level, and more. When considering what is "healthy" and "balanced" for you, it's important to also factor in your personal tastes, nutrition goals, medical conditions, cooking skills, and budget. On campus, we offer a wide variety of options to help you create balanced meals that fit your lifestyle.
The USDA’s MyPlate is a helpful guide for building a balanced plate. It emphasizes the importance of portion control and food variety to meet your nutritional needs. A healthy plate generally includes vegetables, fruits, grains, lean protein, dairy, and healthy fats. Dietetic Internship Program
Each year, we proudly host approximately 20 dietetic interns from Rowan University’s Coordinated Program in Dietetics as part of their supervised practice requirements. These interns gain hands-on experience by completing around 40 hours of supervised rotations under the guidance of our Campus Dietitian.
During their time with us, interns engage in a variety of meaningful projects that contribute to both their professional development and the well-being of our campus community. Their activities include:
- Shadowing the Campus Dietitian to learn about nutrition counseling, food service operations, and allergen management
- Organizing and leading wellness events in the dining hall and across campus, promoting healthy eating habits and student engagement
- Creating nutrition education materials, including menu navigation guides, signage, and digital content
- Developing social media campaigns that promote balanced eating, special diet support, and overall wellness
- And more!
This partnership not only supports the educational goals of future registered dietitians but also enhances the nutrition and wellness offerings available to our campus community.
