Healing Through Art
Our programs use art to bring people together and support mental health in meaningful ways. Veterans can connect and unwind through glassmaking, while students and patients get access to fun, free creative experiences that boost well-being. Whether it's making art in a hospital or together in a classroom setting, these programs help build a stronger, more connected community.
Creative Connections
Creative Connections, offered in partnership with Rowan–Virtua NJISA, is a series of joyful and accessible arts workshops designed for adults 55+. Led by talented teaching artists from our community, these sessions invite you to explore papermaking, sculpture, watercolor, abstract painting, and more. Each workshop is a chance to discover new skills, connect with others, and create artwork you can be proud of.
Creative Connections is made possible by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts
Glass Art for Military Wellness
In partnership with WheatonArts, this program offers free glass art workshops for veterans and active-duty service members. Participants learn techniques like glassblowing and fusing in a hands-on, welcoming space that supports creativity, connection, and wellness. Artist in Residence Program
This program places professional artists in medical settings such as the Rowan-Virtua Child Abuse Research Education and Services (CARES) Institute and Rowan-Virtua Regional Integrated Special Needs (RISN) Center. The artists lead interactive art projects with patients, families, and staff, including mosaic-making, creative workshops, and collaborative installations to promote connection and expression through art.
