Search Procedures

Are you planning to hire staff or have been selected to serve on a Search Committee? Did you know that you must complete a certification process before access to the candidate pool is granted? It is the responsibility of all those involved in the recruitment and selection process to support Rowan’s EEO initiatives, to become familiar with the recruitment procedure and to implement the procedures within their respective departments.

The hiring department (and, in particular, the supervising manager of that unit) is responsible for monitoring the recruitment strategies. The Office of Employee Equity is available to assist the hiring department in meeting Rowan University's objectives in this process.  Below are links which may be of assistance to your department.

  • Steps To Take Official Training for Search Committee Members:
    1. Go to the Search Committee & Bias Awareness Training on the Rowan Training Portal (HealthStream)
    2. Select Enroll
    3. Once you are enrolled, select Start.
    4. The course consists of a training with short knowledge checks.
    5. If you must leave the course before completing it, log out. When you return, select the To Do tab to find it in your list of courses.
    6. Select the Completed tab to review completed training and download certificates.

NOTE: Search Committee & Bias Awareness Certificates expire after one year. Access to candidate resumes cannot be granted without being certified. To complete the certification process or to renew your certificate, please follow the above steps to complete the required Search Committee & Bias Awareness Training.
