Search Procedures
Are you planning to hire staff or have been selected to serve on a Search Committee? Did you know that you must complete a certification process before access to the candidate pool is granted? It is the responsibility of all those involved in the recruitment and selection process to support Rowan’s EEO initiatives, to become familiar with the recruitment procedure and to implement the procedures within their respective departments. All members of all departments involved in any search process must be aware of the recruitment objectives set by their College/Department as part of the Affirmative Action Plan.
The hiring department (and, in particular, the supervising manager of that unit) is responsible for monitoring the recruitment strategies. The Office of Employee Equity is available to assist the hiring department in meeting Rowan University's objectives in this process. Below are links which may be of assistance to your department.

NOTE: Search Committee Chairs and Members: the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the Office of Human Resources are working collaboratively to offer Implicit Bias Professional Development for search committees. Search Chairs are required to attend and committee members are strongly encouraged to participate. Search Chairs for currently active searches will have 30 days to complete the training so the search process is not delayed. In the Implicit Bias Professional Development Session we examine how unconscious or implicit biases we hold show up in our everyday actions and we explore strategies to uncover, explore, and counteract. There will be several sessions held in the coming months. Please email Allison Gunn at gunn@rowan.edu for upcoming dates and times. Thank you for commitment to engaging in practices that result in a more equitable and inclusive campus community.
NOTE: Search Committee Certificates expire after one year. Access to candidate resumes cannot be granted without being certified. To complete the certification process or to renew your certificate, please follow the above steps to complete the required Search Committee Training. For questions or assistance, please contact Christy Mroz at X65494 or write to mroz@rowan.edu.
