Glassboro Codes

As a resident of the borough of Glassboro, you are subject to both the rights and responsibilities the come along with living in our community.  Below you'll find some Boro codes that might affect your life while living in Glassboro.

The Glassboro Code Book is the body of laws, ordinances, and standards that exist for the borough.  It's a function of boro government to enforce these codes as needed.  You can see the entire Boro Code Book here, but below are some specific codes that might apply to you.

Please note this is not a fully complete list, but might give good insight to understand the rules in our community.

  • Alcoholic Beverages (Chapter 150)
    • Article II: Certain Restrictions for Underage Persons:
      • 150-23: Consuming or attempting to purchase
      • 150-24: Purchasing for underage persons
      • 150-25: Falsification of age
      • 150-26: Unlawful acts for underage persons
    • Article III: Posession or Consumption by Underage Persons on Private Property
      • 150-29: Underage drinking
  • Noise (Chapter 327)
    • 327-04: Disturbing peace with noise
    • 327-06: Audible advertising restricted; permit required

  • Peace & Good Order (Chapter 354)
    • 354-05: Consumption of alcoholic beverages in public and quasi-public places
    • 354-12: Litering public and private property 
    • 354-16: Public urination prohibited
    • 354-22: Creation of loud and unreasonable noise
    • 354-24: Other roitous or immoral conduct
    • 354-24: Resisting or interfering with police officer; failure to assist police officer

  • Rental Housing (Chapter 379) (Note: most of these codes regarding rentals technically apply to landlords, but as a tenant with a landlord, it's helpful to know the rules)
    • 379-05: Performance standards
    • 379-07: Inspections
    • 379-09: Emergencies
  • Vehicles & Traffic (Chapter 445) (Note: the codes in this section are a little different, in that they refer to specific locations within Glassboro.  Some common locations are listed below, but double check the entire code as your specific location may also exist)
    • 445-02: No parking, certain streets
    • 445-14: No parking, one-way streets, through streets, turns, bus stops: various streets
    • 445-16: Parking limited to two hours of certain streets
    • 445-23: Parking regulations for certain apartment complexes
    • 445-46: Regulations for Beau Rivage
    • 445-47: Regulations for Campus Crossings
    • 445-54: Parking prohibited during certain hours on certain streets
    • 445-57: Parking by permit only on certain streets within Borough

    • NOTE for parking in Glassboro:  In the places where street parking is normally prohibited, Glassboro requires an overnight parking pass if street parking is needed.  To obtain a permit to park on the street overnight, fill out this form from Glassboro's website:
