On Tuesday, February 22, 2022 we presented a conversation with artist Syd Carpenter and South Jersey farmers and food activists of color. They shared stories of their experiences as growers and their relationship with the land.

On Our Panel:
Syd Carpenter

Syd Carpenter - Artist, Gardener
Syd Carpenter earned her BFA and MFA from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Her work has been exhibited and collected extensively throughout the region and nationally. She is currently Professor of Art, Peggy Chan Professorship in Black Studies at Swarthmore College, PA.

Paige Vaccaro - Founder of C.R.O.P.S
Paige Vaccaro began her nonprofit organization, C.R.O.P.S, in 2016 with a farmers market. Now in 2022, she continues to pursue her goal of rejecting stereotypes, along with connecting and educating people through community gardens. cropsnj.org
