Wellness & Resiliency during the Pandemic
Amy Hoch, Psy.D.
Associate Director of the Wellness Center, Rowan University

Amy Hoch, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist in New Jersey and New York. She is the Associate Director of the Wellness Center at Rowan University where she oversees clinical services; facilitates staff development and training and continues to provide individual and group therapy to students and supervision to staff. 

She is co-chair of the Sexual Violence Prevention Committee on campus and an advocate for violence awareness and prevention in the community. Dr. Hoch is a past Chairperson of the American College Health Association’s (ACHA) Safety and Violence Coalition and sat on their Sexual Violence Prevention Task Force. In addition, Dr. Hoch is a certified Trauma Focused CBT trainer and provides training, consultation and supervision on trauma-related issues both nationally and internationally.

Jeremy Trowsdale 
Director of Training & Development, Human Resources

Jeremy Trowsdale is the Director of Training and Development in Human Resources at Rowan University. He created and manages the Leadership Development Institute and New Manager Orientation programs to enhance the leadership and managerial capabilities of high performing employees across the University. He also oversees Rowan’s performance management, New Employee Orientation and onboarding programs that are focused on achieving long term goals as well as addressing immediate development needs.

He provides a range of consultation services to various levels of management on the development and implementation of strategies and training for creating and sustaining a higher performing work force. He works collaboratively at department and division levels to ensure performance management processes inform and support each other and lead to continuous improvement of university performance. He supports department strategic planning and organizational development efforts. 

Jeremy is a member of the Strategic Priorities Council and the Chair of both the Employee Recognition Awards and the PROFessional of the Month Sub-Committees. The SPC initiatives allow him to direct two of the most impactful employee recognition programs on campus and in the process, build employee engagement.

Dr. Adarsh K Gupta
Board Certified Physician and Family Medicine Faculty at
 
Dr. Adarsh K Gupta is board certified in family medicine and obesity medicine. He is a speaker, consultant who specializes in medical weight loss and metabolic disorders. Dr. Gupta has presented locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally on the topics related to obesity, weight management, metabolic disorders, and technology in medicine. He had authored numerous textbook chapters and journal articles.

Zeynep Isik-Ercan, Ph.D.
Professor, College of Education & co-director of Early Childhood Leadership Institute 
 
Zeynep Isik-Ercan is a Professor of Early Childhood Education in the Department of Interdisciplinary and Inclusive Education and co-director of Early Childhood Leadership Institute at Rowan University. Her research includes culturally and linguistically diverse children, teachers, families and communities, best practices for culturally responsive teaching and intellectual development, including STEM and Project Based Learning, and professional development of educators and leaders. Zeynep is actively involved in local, national and global scale educational and social issues by serving as a trustee for CASA of NJ, and the Vice President of National Association for Early Childhood Teacher Educators, and as a volunteer of multiple non-profit and community organizations. Zeynep’s research has appeared in academic journals such as Young Children, Race, Ethnicity and Education, Childhood Education, International Journal of Science Education, Early Childhood Education Journal, and Diaspora, Indigenous and Minority Education Journal. She is the recipient of 2014 The Indiana Early Care and Education Award, and 2017 Wall of Fame Award for Teaching/Advising at Rowan University.
 
Hannah Kye, Ed.D.
Assistant Professor, College of Education
 
Hannah Kye is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education in the Department of Interdisciplinary and Inclusive Education at Rowan University and has taught courses in early childhood and elementary education. Rooted in her experiences as an elementary science teacher, her research focuses on science, engineering, and maker education as they intersect with family engagement and issues of diversity and equity. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and she frequently presents at national and international conferences. She is the Principal Investigator of the federally-funded Rowan CCAMPIS Program, which increases access to college education for student parents and access to high-quality early childhood education for their children. She received her doctorate in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University.​

Mary Kaye Anthony, J.D.
Vice President, Senior Trust Advisor, TD Wealth Private Client Group

Mary Kaye serves as Vice President and Senior Trust Advisor with the TD Wealth Private Client Group. Mary Kaye's responsibilities include the administration of multigenerational trusts with a special focus and expertise in the administration of special needs trusts, guardianships, charitable trusts, and planned giving for non-profit organizations.  

Mary Kaye received her Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law and went on to practice law for several years in the litigation department of a large regional law firm. She remains a licensed attorney in the state of Pennsylvania. She has also worked as a Guardian Ad Litem representing abused and neglected children and as a spokeswoman for child advocacy throughout the greater Philadelphia footprint. Outside of the office, Mary Kaye sings in professional concerts, weddings and theatrical productions throughout Philadelphia and enjoys spending time with her husband and 1 year old son, Beau. 
 
Carla Reinas
VP, Store Manager, TD Bank
 
An award-winning banking professional, with a strong background in sales and marketing, Carla Reinas is the vice president and store manager for the TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® in Marlton.  As manager, Reinas is responsible for the overall performance of the store through store sales, service, operational standards, conflict resolution, process development and supervisory personnel. During her tenure with TD Bank, Reinas received the company’s coveted CEO Leadership Award in 2013, which recognizes top leaders in the company from Maine to Florida.

Prior to joining TD Bank, Reinas was a senior account executive with Thomas/Boyd Communications in Moorestown, NJ. In this role, Reinas developed, launched and managed public relations and marketing campaigns for a variety of clients including business-to-business, healthcare, telecommunications, not-for-profit, home builders and the like. While at TBC, Reinas managed the local and regional public relations and marketing efforts for her client’s participation as the builder for ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition in 2007. 

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Reinas is also very active in the non-profit and business community serving on the Board of Trustees of the Burlington County Library Foundation. She also served on the Board of Directors for Crossroads Programs as well as the Burlington County Freeholder Appointed Advisory Council on Women and the Holy Cross High School Board of Trustees.

Reinas received her bachelor’s degree in Communication from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.

Cyndy Smolsky
VP, Senior Relationship Manager, TD Private Client Group
 
As a Private Client Relationship Manager, Cyndy delivers TD Wealth’s full offering of private banking, lending, investment, trust, and estate services to high net worth individuals in her market. She works closely with each client to assess their needs and develop a comprehensive plan focused on their financial goals. In executing upon this strategy, she leverages the resources of TD Wealth and TD Bank to assemble a team of specialists to fulfill the many needs of each client. As the primary point of contact, she develops an extensive relationship with each client and works closely with the team assembled to support their needs.
 
Prior to joining TD Wealth in 2015, Cyndy held roles as a Wealth Management Sr. Relationship Manager, VP at PNC Wealth Management.
 
Cyndy currently holds her FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations.

June DePonte Sernak
Dean, Lifelong Learning, Rowan College at Burlington County
 
June is the Dean of Lifelong Learning at Rowan College at Burlington County supporting the Workforce Development Institute. June has worked in corporate telecommunications for 25 years with MCI and Sprint in sales and marketing.

Most recently, June was the Executive Director for the Southwestern, NJ Chapter of the American Red Cross serving Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties.

She currently serves as an Honorary Commander Emeritus for the Joint Base -McGuire-Dix Lakehurst, the Vice President for the 200 Club of Burlington County, Board Member and Co-Chair of Diversity & Inclusion Committee of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Board Member, Alice Paul Institute and Board Member and Marketing Chair of the Burlington County Military Affairs Committee, BCMAC.

June was voted SJ Biz Magazine Executive of the Year, NAWBO Community Advocate of the Year, SNJBP Magazine Women Executive of the Year, SJ Biz Women to Watch and featured in South Jersey Magazine’s Exceptional Women Entrepreneurs & Executives.

June studied Marketing at Montclair State College and an MBA in Management from Strayer University. She is also a Senior Adjunct Professor for Rowan College at Burlington County College and currently in a Doctoral Program at Wilmington University in Organizational Leadership and Innovation.

She is a lifelong resident of Burlington County and currently resides in Delanco, NJ with her husband, Michael and daughter, Alyssa.

 

Engaging with Students - Tips for Faculty
Natalie Kautz, Ed.D.
Assistant Director, Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Adjunct Instructor, Mathematics
 
Dr. Natalie Kautz joined the Rowan family in 2010 and the Faculty Center in 2018. She earned her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Rowan University in 2016. As the Assistant Director, she works closely with the Director. She is responsible for the Mid-Semester Focus on Teaching & Learning, mentoring programs, and the administration of the Online Student Evaluations of Teaching Effectiveness. She helps out with New Faculty Orientation, and assists with grant and award applications as needed. Natalie represents the Faculty Center at workshops and presentations across the university and serves as the Vice President for Service of Alpha Epsilon Lambda, the Graduate Honor Society. Natalie teaches Reasoning with Functions as an adjunct professor in the Mathematics Department in the College of Science & Mathematics.
