38th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Celebration and Day of Service

This event provides opportunities for the Rowan community to celebrate the life and legacy of a true American visionary.This year, new opportunities will be offered through our Day of Service for the community to leave a lasting impact serving in the spirit of Dr. King.  All proceeds will provide four-year scholarships to our students through the William H. Myers Memorial Scholarships, furthering the University’s mission to provide an accessible, quality education at an affordable cost.

Observed by many Christians, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Those who observe Ash Wednesday may be given ashes in a cross pattern on their forehead to symbolize repentance and mortality. Students and Rowan University community members who would like to take part, may stop by the booth and promptly receive ashes. Father Todd of TEC@RU will be administering the ashes.

7th Annual program “Politics of Black and Brown Hair” creates a brave and loving space for Black & Brown community members to share their hair journey, styles, and stories which we acknowledge as both personal and many times political. We invite community members to join us for dinner, engage with Black-owned vendors, participate in the discussion, share stories with our Keynote speaker, and hear from community panelists.

Celebrating Black Joy, SJICR invites community members to celebrate Black Joy by breaking bread and sharing stories with one another. There will be games and giveaways to create memories that last a lifetime. Food is free for all attendees

The Mr. RHOmeo pageant is a scholarship program to show appreciation to men who exhibit qualities which reflect the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Our main principles include sisterhood, scholarship, and service, with an emphasis on scholarship and service throughout the pageant. This event is more popular in the South, but the Theta Mu chapter would like to highlight the good works of men on Rowan's campus.

Lavender Graduation is a special ceremony for LGBTQIA+ and Ally undergraduate and graduate students to acknowledge their achievements, contributions, and unique experiences at Rowan University.
