RU Art Gallery & Museum Opening Reception: Folding Time |
Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum is excited to announce Folding Time, a solo exhibition of Wendel White’s photographic works. Wendel White is a renowned photographer known for focusing on Black history and the legacy of slavery through his foundational projects: Schools for the Colored, Red Summer, and Manifest. The exhibition will open on September 3rd and be on view through October 26th, with an opening reception and artist talk on September 12th from 5-7pm. The artist's talk begins at 5:30pm. We are very pleased to announce that we will have Therapy Dogs present during Mental Health Night Courtesy of our friends at the Schrieber Family Pet Therapy Program. The program’s assistant director Michelle Pich will also be present to provide a brief presentation on the benefits of Pet Therapy. It's going to be an amazing evening! Meet Marc Cohen, Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs International Vice President of Regions (FJMC). An Educator, Marc has recieved Holocaust Education Training in Jerusalem from Yad VaShem. Join us for our annual scholarship pageant for men! We will be awarding scholarships to the top three contestants! The Mr. RHOmeo pageant is a scholarship program to show appreciation to men who exhibit qualities which reflect the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Our main principles include sisterhood, scholarship, and service, with an emphasis on scholarship and service throughout the pageant. Wade in the Water: Perspectives on Diversity in Ecology & Environmental Science |
In this talk, fisheries scientist, environmentalist, and advocate for diversity and inclusion, Ambrose Jearld will share his thoughts on the nature of interconnectedness and its relationship to diversity and ecology. Jearld will share his perspective of being one of the first Black fisheries scientist at NOAA, his role supporting the development of the fisheries industry in several West African countries, and his upbringing and education in a time of segregation. This talk will also explore how embracing diversity fosters interdisciplinary collaborations and promotes equitable access to environmental resources. |
