Social Justice, Inclusion, and Conflict Resolution

Social Justice, Inclusion, and Conflict Resolution

About Us

The Office of Social Justice, Inclusion and Conflict Resolution (SJICR) was formed through the collaborative efforts of students, faculty and staff to provide dedicated physical space and bring together resources for underrepresented and underserved students at Rowan University. These efforts crystalized after a student presentation at a spring 2014 Board of Trustees (BOT) meeting during which Dr. Houshmand and other members of the BOT expressed their support for this initiative. Physical space was subsequently identified in Robinson Hall, followed by renovations with funding support from Facilities and University Housing. The SJICR office is currently located on the 2nd Floor of Hawthorn Hall.

Find Your Community

The Office of Social Justice, Inclusion, and Conflict Resolution is committed to establishing transformative educational experiences. Through culturally sustaining practices, we aim to cultivate leadership, identity development, and global citizenship by empowering our community at Rowan and beyond. We believe that every person who comes to our campus belongs here.  Finding your place in a new community can be challenging, let us help!  Reach out to SJICR to get connected with student organizations, programs, and events.
