Career Counseling
Take advantage of a comprehensive range of services to help reach your career goals.  Meet with an Office of Career Advancement (OCA) career counselor to discuss activities such as identifying interests and skills, starting a job search, writing a resume, or preparing for an interview. For students, please schedule an appointment via the Rowan Success Network. For alumni, please email careers@rowan.edu. 

Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Career Resource Library 
The Kopenhaver Career Resource Library in the Office of Career Advancement (OCA) maintains electronic resources to assist with major and career exploration, company research, resume development, interview skills, and job search techniques. Computers are available for online research or to take self-assessment inventory FOCUS-2 to better understand your interests, abilities, and values. OCA staff members are available to answer all in-person reference questions. Visit the Kopenhaver Career Resource Library to relax in our comfortable reading environment and take the time to ponder the possibilities of future career achievements.

Ever wonder if your major is a good match for your interests and skills?  Would you like to explore career opportunities related to your major?  The Office of Career Advancement (OCA) can help!  Assessments available to students and alumni include the FOCUS-2 self-assessment inventory program. PROFS JOBS
PROFS JOBS is a one-stop shop for your career search needs.  Search for full-time, part-time, summer, and internship positions.  Have your resume critiqued and posted in the electronic resume bank.  Upload cover letters and supporting credentials to include in the online application process.  View upcoming career fairs and on-campus interview events.  It’s convenient, user-friendly, and FREE!  The PROFS JOBS system is a web-based program accessible from any computer with internet access 24 hours a day, seven days a week.   And it’s only for Rowan students and alumni.

Preparing Your Resume
Make sure your resume makes a positive first impression on potential employers. Attend a resume writing workshop, submit your resume to be critiqued via PROFSJOBS, or take advantage of the individual resume writing assistance available at the Office of Career Advancement. For individual help with a resume or cover letter writing, make an appointment with an Office of Career Advancement Advisor or stop by the Office of Career Advancement Resource Library.  Bring a printed copy (hard copy) of your resume.

Off-Campus Federal Work-Study Employment Program
Interested in gaining experience in your chosen field?  Are you eligible to receive Federal Work-Study (FWS) funds? Want to earn a competitive hourly wage?  If the answer to these questions is yes, then working for a partner non-profit agency through Rowan’s Off-Campus Work-Study Program is for you! Dozens of internships/work-study positions in various fields await you.

Complete your FAFSA form and submit it to FAFSA.GOV, then email fws@rowan.edu with your name and Banner ID# to confirm your eligibility with the Financial Aid Office. Next, review and apply to FWS jobs posted in Profsjobs

Federal Work Study Job Requirements
FWS eligibility: Your completed FAFSA form and submitted to FAFSA.GOV will guide Rowan University’s Financial Aid Office to determine your FWS eligibility.
