Meet the Staff

Adam Verone, Labor Relations Manager

Adam Verone started at Rowan University in November 2020. Before that, he spent the last eight years working in the field of public labor relations, both as a New Jersey Deputy Attorney General and as an employee relations manager at a State law enforcement agency. At Rowan, Adam handles the day to day labor issues within the Office of Employee Equity, including employee corrective action and administration of collective negotiation agreements. He also reviews and responds to employee workplace accommodation requests. Adam encourages any and all employees as well as management to contact him regarding these issues so that we can find resolutions that work for everyone.

Dennis Talavera, Labor Relations Manager

Dennis Talavera joined Rowan University as a Labor Relations Manager in 2023. Prior to doing so, Dennis served as a State Trooper with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) for over 20 years. There, while working as a detective, he conducted all manner of criminal investigations. He has extensive supervisory experience as a Captain/Bureau Chief, where he oversaw various NJSP bureaus in criminal, administrative and information technology disciplines. He also developed significant HR expertise while serving as the unit head for the NJSP’s Office of Labor Relations. Prior to serving with the NJSP, Dennis worked for three years as an Investigator with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

Dennis was admitted to the New Jersey Bar over 25 years ago and, while serving with the NJSP, also ran his own part-time law practice for over a decade. There, he represented clients in a variety of civil matters.

A long-time resident of Southern New Jersey, Dennis received his B.A. in English from Rutgers−Camden and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law­−Camden. He is also fluent in Spanish.

Christy Mroz, Administrative Assistant

Christy Mroz joined Rowan University after enjoying a long career as a Legal Secretary and providing administrative support to lead attorneys and staff. Her experience in the legal field and exceptional customer service skills enables her to serve as the entry point to the Office of Employee Equity. Employees in need of assistance on matters concerning EEO and ADA Accommodations can reach out to her for an appointment with our professional staff. Christy is also the contact point for Search Committee Members who must complete the required Search Committee Training for certification.
