Thank you to medical, clinical, and administrative colleagues across Rowan University, for previously collaborating and helping to provide critical input and resources for Recovery Month and year-round at go.rowan.edu/recovery.
Together with all Rowan colleges and schools, we are committed to recognizing, celebrating, and supporting all people in all stages of recovery; and overall diversity, equity, and inclusion across our campuses and communities.
On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 7pm in the second floor atrium of Savitz Hall located on Rowan University's Glassboro campus, the Student Success Programs team will host "Drinks and Drugs After Dark." During the event, the team will promote awareness and provide health education on alcohol and other substances to the Rowan community. The event is open to all Rowan students, faculty, and staff across all Rowan colleges and schools, including the Rowan–Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine (Rowan–Virtua SOM), and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU).
In advance of the event, all Rowan students may submit anonymous questions related to alcohol and other substances via the following one-question form link—no question is off-limits, and the team will facilitate evidence-based and judgment-free responses during the event. These questions will be answered by panelists, composed of current Rowan students, licensed clinical providers, and alumni. Attendees are also welcome to share insight into their lived experiences throughout the evening. The lights in the atrium will be dimmed, with exception of stage lighting in order to illuminate the panelists.
Rowan's SOAR navigation team, Kristen Miranda (mirandak@rowan.edu) and Drew Davenport (davenportdr@rowan.edu) will moderate the event and panel. Please feel free to email the team with other questions in advance of the event.
All Rowan students, faculty, and staff can register for the event via the Rowan Campus Labs website. Click here to access a printable campus map. Savitz Hall is located at 227 Mullica Hill Road, next to the Campbell Library.
Click here to download an event flyer and here to download an event promotional toolkit for social media. Please share this information with student groups and colleagues across all Rowan colleges and schools.
This event was inspired by Boston University's "After Dark" series, and the "After Dark" series previously hosted by Brittany Auleta at Rowan University.
