“We are Rowan-Virtua SOM. You belong here.” Meet Andrea Iannuzzelli, DO ('95), who serves as an Internist specializing in caring for the adult special needs community at Rowan Integrated Special Needs (RISN) Center. Prior to joining RISN, Dr. Iannuzzelli was the Medical Director at Medford Leas Continuing Care Retirement Community, where she worked in the medical office to work with the outpatient geriatric population, as well as covered subacute rehab, assisted living, and memory support areas. As she was affectionately known, Dr. Andie also oversaw Wellness Services, which included the Fitness Center, Wellness Center, and home health agency.
Her current role allows her to marry my love of caring for medically complex patients with the special needs communities, which is near and dear to her heart due to her experiences with her son, Nick. Dr. Iannuzzelli’s spare time is spent volunteering for SOM’s Alumni Association’s Board; serving as a board member for Kingsway Services - an adult special needs day program; and working on the board of Circle Haven - a South Jersey residential community for special needs adults, which is a vision in the making. She also enjoys assisting with New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities’ subcommittees to help improve lives of special needs people and families across the state
