Class of 2023
Each year, it is Rowan University's honor to welcome thousands of graduates to celebrate with their loved ones and our academic community during the Commencement festivities.
The University Commencement Ceremony & Celebration will take place *Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 10:00a.m at Richard Wackar Stadium. This event features President Houshmand’s address, the conferral of degrees and messages from Commencement speakers, and exciting surprises, followed by a celebration with complimentary light bites, celebratory music, photo opportunities, and a beer and wine garden (for a fee). All graduates across colleges, schools, and degree levels are invited to attend. The event is ticketed, and each graduate will receive 6 guest tickets. *In the case of extreme weather, the ceremony will be possibly held on the following days: Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 2 p.m. or Monday, May 8, 2023, at 9 a.m. The celebration will follow the rescheduled ceremony.
The College Commencement ceremonies are scheduled for **Monday, May 8 – Thursday, May 11, 2023 under a tent on the University Green at Bunce Hall. At these events, each graduate will cross the stage, have their name read aloud and appear on the screens in the tent, as well as, on the live stream. Ceremonies on the University Green will allow for 4 guest tickets, with the potential of 2 additional tickets, depending on availability (date of potential release TBD). ** In the case of extreme weather, each affected ceremony will occur in Esbjornson Gymnasium. Extreme weather ceremonies will allow for 4 guest tickets.
Commencement is a time for celebration in honor of the achievements of each of our graduates. In order to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to be formally recognized by their Rowan community, friends, and families, we require that graduates refrain from bringing additional parties with them as they walk across the stage to receive their diploma folder (i.e., no children, babies, or other loved ones; no pets). If you require the assistance of a personal attendant or service animal in walking across the stage, please email commencement@rowan.edu in advance of commencement.
Graduates should refrain from carrying cell phones or other electronic devices across the stage. The use of personal drones is likewise prohibited during commencement. We look forward to celebrating with our graduates!
