Website Accessibility Support
Web Services maintains Rowan's websites in Cascade CMS and monitors their accessibility through Siteimprove. We provide onboarding, training, and ongoing support to help web contributors create and maintain accessible content. We also review sites during the content audit and redesign process and flag accessibility issues for resolution.
If you encounter an accessibility issue on a Rowan website, please submit a web support request. We'll work with the site's Web Ambassador to resolve it.
Document and PDF remediation
All PDFs and documents on Rowan websites must be accessible to screen readers. To this end, Web Services guides contributors through a four-step document triage process: delete outdated files, archive inactive ones, convert applicable materials web pages where possible, and remediate the rest.
For faculty creating course documents, the Faculty Center and the document accessibility resources on this site can help you check your work before sharing it with students.

Training and Workshops
Web Services offers Cascade CMS training for new and existing web contributors. Live workshops cover specific accessibility topics and give contributors hands-on practice with real tools. You can also review training videos and written guides on the Web Services blog and the Cascade Editor Guide.
Siteimprove Reporting
Rowan uses Siteimprove to scan its websites for accessibility, quality, and SEO issues. Reports are generated regularly and shared with Web Ambassadors and site contributors. Any Rowan employee can request access to Siteimprove for their site.
Siteimprove checks for missing alt text, broken links, heading structure errors, inaccessible PDFs, and more. A browser plugin lets contributors jump directly from a flagged issue to the corresponding page in Cascade.
