Dates / Length of Summer Internship Flexible. Preference for at least 8 weeks Required Hours/Week 10-15 hrs at least 2 days a week

Applications will be accepted starting April 1st and will close by May 1st. Selected candidates will be invited to a zoom interview with the Chief of Staff and a current intern. Interns will be selected by May 10th.

Intern work areas:  Clerical XX    Research XX    Errands     Organizing XX

Please explain the work that will be required of the intern: Interns have two main responsibilities- legislative research and drafting constituent responses regarding the Assemblyman’s legislative stances.

We are also looking for an intern with digital organization skills( ie. Ideas on how to better structure and organize our google drive- stipend may be available for this work)

Will there be opportunities for the intern to observe:

          Internal strategy sessions? X         Legislative sessions? X       Committee hearings? X

Is the intern expected to work evenings and weekends? If so, please explain. No. However, we may give tickets to evening political events which is optional and merely a chance to enhance networking opportunities for the intern.

Our office is an intensive research driven office- our staff not only drives forth our own legislation but we help craft legislative amendments for other offices. Successful applicants will be curious, open to learning about a variety of topics, and be willing to participate in lengthy policy debates/discussions.
