Request a Presentation or Workshop
All workshops are offered Monday through Thursday. We offer both in-person and virtual presentations.
Request guidelines:
- Workshop requests for the Fall semester will be available from the first week of August until the last week of September.
- Workshop requests for the Spring Semester will be available from the first week of December to the last week of January.
- Workshops will be scheduled in the order they are received.
- Please allow our office 72 hours to secure a time and facilitator for your requested workshop.
- Once the scheduling process is complete, you will receive an email confirmation and a calendar invite.
- Please note that workshops are limited to one topic per event.
- If your class only meets on Friday, kindly include that information in the questions/comment section of the request form.

Career Planning Overview (45 mins)
Understanding Your FOCUS2 Results: Interests, Values & Careers (45 min)
AI-Powered Job Search: Rowan Resources and Strategies (45 min)
In this session, students will learn effective job-search strategies and explore resources to support their success. In partnership with Rowan University Libraries, we will introduce Rowan-approved AI tools and demonstrate how to use them responsibly to enhance the job search process, including resume development, job searching, and crafting effective prompts. Students will also be introduced to additional career resources and platforms available to Rowan students, such as ProfJobs, CareerShift, and GoinGlobal, to help them navigate opportunities with confidence.
Please have students bring their laptops to participate in this session.
Building Your Resume with VMock (45 min)
In this session, students will learn best practices for resume writing and how to effectively showcase their skills and experiences. Using VMock, an AI-powered platform, students will receive instant feedback on their resumes and learn how to optimize them for applicant tracking systems (ATS). We will guide students through interpreting their feedback and making improvements to strengthen their documents.
Please have students create a VMock account and upload their resume prior to the session.
Making Connections in Person: From Elevator Pitches to Career Fairs (45 min)
In this session, students will learn how to build meaningful connections through in-person networking. We will cover the basics of informational interviews, developing and delivering effective elevator pitches, and preparing for career fairs. Students will gain practical strategies to confidently engage with employers and professionals.
Connect & Engage: Networking in the Digital Age (45 min)
In this session, students will discover how to use LinkedIn, ProfsConnect, social media, and direct outreach to build relationships with professionals, explore career paths, and uncover hidden opportunities. Whether students are looking for an internship, a mentor, or their first full-time job, this session will give students practical strategies to grow their network.
Experience That Counts: Leveraging Internships, Engagement, and Career Readiness Skills (60 min)
Gain the tools and strategies needed to turn your experiences into career success. This interactive workshop explores the value of experiential learning through internships, student involvement, leadership opportunities, and hands-on experiences. Participants will learn effective job search strategies, discover ways to maximize campus engagement, and identify how these experiences help develop the eight career readiness competencies defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). By the end of the session, students will be able to articulate their skills and experiences confidently to employers and graduate schools.
Mastering the Art of Interviewing: Strategies for Success (60 mins)
Prepare to make a lasting impression in your next interview. This interactive workshop introduces students to proven interviewing techniques, common interview formats, and strategies for answering behavioral and traditional interview questions with confidence. Participants will also learn how to utilize Big Interview to practice responses, receive feedback, and strengthen their interview skills. By the end of the session, students will be equipped with the tools needed to communicate their qualifications effectively and confidently navigate the interview process.
Building Your Personal Brand: Defining What Sets You Apart (60 min)
Your personal brand is more than a résumé—it is the unique combination of skills, experiences, values, and strengths that shape how others perceive you. In this interactive workshop, participants will explore what personal branding is, identify their professional strengths, and learn how to communicate their value effectively in professional settings. By the end of the session, students will have a clearer understanding of their personal brand and practical strategies for building a consistent and authentic professional presence.
