Black Student Union (BSU)
The Black Student Union is an educational-based community building system for Black and Multicultural students at Rowan University. Through collaborative and unified efforts, we aim to create an intersectional, supportive, and sustainable voice for the Black Student Body at Rowan University. The BSU is an umbrella student-run collective representing all Black and Multicultural organizations on Rowan University’s Glassboro Campus.
Men of Color Alliance (MOCA)
The Men of Color Alliance (MOCA) is a club that strives to create a safe place for minority men and to unite them under the common objective of changing the negative stereotypes that society places upon them. The organization provides its’ members with the tools of becoming “Men of Purpose and Excellence” by emphasizing its core values; these include--but are not limited to--creativity, education, integrity, leadership, mentorship, perseverance, and most importantly, brotherhood.
Women of Color Alliance (WOCA)
The Women of Color Alliance (WOCA) is an ALL INCLUSIVE organization that strives to create a safe place for minority women and unite them under the common objective of changing the societal and systemic limitations placed upon them. Through self empowerment and service we focus on building women of diligence and tenacity. The organization provides its members with the tools of becoming “Women of Excellence” by emphasizing its core values; these include--but are not limited to --education, respect, diligence, leadership,mentorship, professionalism and most importantly, sisterhood.
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP, Rowan Collegiate Chapter)
The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination by informing the youth on problems that effect African Americans and other minority communities. Our aim is to stimulate and show appreciation towards African Diaspora and POCś contribution to civilization. In addition to developing an intelligent and militant leadership.
United Latino Association (ULA)
ULA is all about providing a space for people of different cultural backgrounds to celebrate their culture while learning about others. We also work to educate others about issues that the latino community faces.
Student Organization for Caribbean Awareness (S.O.C.A)
SOCA will be active in organizing activities and events aimed at fostering interaction amongst people of Caribbean descent and others interested in Caribbean culture. SOCA shall also engage in identifying, promoting, and creating programs that will contribute to the progress and development of the Caribbean.
South Asian Student Association (SASA)
The South Asian Students Association (SASA) looks to foster a community of South Asian students. Members of this organization will conduct social and cultural events to spread knowledge about South Asian culture as well as participate in service endeavors to make a difference on our campus and city.
Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (RowanMAPS)
MAPS commits to the empowerment of its members to take proactive steps to address minority health issues through advocacy, community service and promoting academic excellence beyond health issues including but not limited to underrepresented regions. Rowan University MAPS Chapter will inspire and encourage others to recognize the need for minorities in the health care professions, as well as anyone who has an affinity to transform health care related issues in the minority community.
Rowan University Philippine-American Coalition (RUPAC)
We aim to spread our message with the help of outside organizations. Through the Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue (FIND Inc.), a national organization, RUPAC is able to network with schools along the East Coast who share the same goal.
Vietnamese Student Association (VSA)
The purpose of this organization is to unite Vietnamese-Americans and others who are interested in Vietnamese culture and traditions, and thereby organize and participate in these events.
Rowan Rangeela
Rowan Rangeela's goals are to raise diversity awareness and to expose the Rowan University faculty and student body to the cultures and traditions of South Asian communities through dance!
African Student Association (ASA)
The purpose of this organization is to unite students of African ethnic background, as well as those students interested in learning more about African culture, allow individuals to develop a better understanding of Africa and the issues that Africans face, celebrate the African culture, rid misconceptions regarding Africa, promote diversity, and establish opportunities to assist those in need of assistance in underprivileged countries in Africa.
Black Cultural League (BCL)
The primary goal of the Black Cultural League is to promote unity and celebrate diversity among all people; improve social awareness; increase social responsibility; embrace, broaden and enhance knowledge of African American history.
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
We are the Rowan University NSBE chapter and we strive to impact the lives of everyone around us by taking positive action in everything we do! The organization is dedicated to the academic and professional success of African-American engineering students (as well as all STEM Majors) and professionals.
