Biography
Dr. Lezotte has been Assistant Dean of Rowan’s School of Graduate Studies since February 2021. She holds a B.A. in English (Communications) from Lebanon Valley College, an M.A. in English (Teaching of Writing) from Rutgers University, and Ph.D. in Education (Postsecondary and Higher Education) from Rowan University. Prior to joining the School of Graduate Studies, Dr. Lezotte worked in research administration for 15 years, most recently serving as Rowan's Director of Strategic Research Initiatives. Dr. Lezotte’s published works focus on postsecondary success and college outcomes. Her research has been published in: JDHE, Journal of Applied Research in Higher Education, Improving Schools, School Science and Mathematics, Journal for Professional Issues in Engineering Education and Practice, and William and Mary Educational Review. She holds professional development certificates in Research Law; Research Financial Administration; Inclusive Practices and Pedagogy; and Designing Hybrid-Flexible (HyFlex) Courses to Support Multimodal Learning Environments. Since 2006, Dr. Lezotte has taught postsecondary courses ranging from community college to Ph.D. including higher education administration, strategic planning and budgeting, research methods, thesis/practicum advisement, writing, and literature. She currently serves as Vice-Chair for the American Educational Research Association's Special Interest Group 168: Graduate and Postdoctoral Education Across the Disciplines.
In SGS, Dr. Lezotte develops graduate education policies and practices, oversees Graduate Assistant hiring and the graduate travel award competition, co-chairs the Graduate Advisory Council, co-facilitates Professional Learning Communities about graduate student mentorship, and is Rowan's liaison for the National GEM Consortium, the National Name Exchange, and the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program.
