Sexual Misconduct/Title IX
All members of the University community have the right to be free from any form of sexual violence, harassment or exploitation. If you have been sexually assaulted, experienced domestic or dating violence, stalking, sexual harassment or any form of sexual exploitation, you may choose to report it. You may choose to report the incident to the police and/or to Rowan University. You may pursue either, both or none of these options.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in all educational settings for both students and employees. The law states:
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
– Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and its implementing regulation at 34 C.F.R. Part 106 (Title IX)
Rowan University does not discriminate on the basis of sex and all members of the University community have the right to be free from any form of sexual violence, sexual harassment, or sexual exploitation. Rowan University does not tolerate sexual harassment or sexual misconduct of any kind.
Student Sexual Misconduct/Title IX Reporting Form

Q: Is reporting the same as filing a formal complaint?
A: No, the reporting form allows you to report the alleged incident. Though reporting can be done by a third party, ONLY the individual who experienced the unwanted behavior can file the formal complaint as specified below.
Filing a Formal Complaint
It is recommended that you speak with the Title IX Coordinator, if you are interested in filing a Formal Complaint. You may contact the Title IX Coordinator, Brandy Bennett via email at bennettb@rowan.edu or by phone at 856-256-5440. Filing of a formal complaint will initiate the grievance process related to the reported allegations which includes initiating an investigation and/or initiating the informal resolution process. This Formal Complaint form should ONLY be completed by the Complainant, meaning the individual who experienced the unwanted behavior.
If you are not the Complainant, OR are the Complainant and not yet ready to file a Formal Complaint, click on the red button to report alleged sexual harassment/sexual assault/sexual misconduct to the University.

In response to 34 CFR Part 106.45(b)(10) of the 2020 Title IX Regulations that mandates the public sharing of materials used to train school and college Title IX team members, Rowan has created a Title IX Schedule of Training containing links to training materials.
