It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Milan Whetstone, Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Rowan University, on April 23, 2026.
Milan was a valued member of the Rowan community, serving the University for five years. A proud alumna, Milan graduated from Rowan University in 2011 with a degree in sociology. She dedicated her career to supporting students and their families through the admissions process, specifically the ASCEND program, and her impact to the campus community will be felt forever. A beacon of light…strong, graceful, and full of love, she will be greatly missed.
Milan was the recipient of the Dr. William H. Myers Leadership Award and the NAACP Strength in Motherhood Award, and was recognized among the Top 30 Under 40 Black Leaders of Southern New Jersey.
