It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Anthony Sommo, retired associate professor in Sociology and Anthropology, on August 12, 2023.
Anthony spent 30 years at Rowan and was a dedicated advocate for students with disabilities. He was the founder of the Rowan Chapter of Delta Alpha Pi, an international honor society for high achieving students with a disability. He also founded a faculty/staff mentoring program for students with disability and received a Dedicated Faculty Award for Services to Students with Disabilities.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
