DEI Book Study: Center for Access, Persistence and Achievement (CAPA)

DEI encourages departments and colleges throughout Rowan University to start a book study with their respective colleagues, to continually learn and engage in various topics surrounding DEI. Each month, we will be highlighting DEI Book Studies throughout campus!

Department: Center for Access, Success, Persistence and Achievement (CAPA)

Facilitators: Dr. Dawn Singelton

Book: Racial Healing Handbook by Annelise Singh

The Racial Healing Handbook offers practical tools to help you navigate daily and past experiences of racism, challenge internalized negative messages and privileges, and handle feelings of stress and shame. The DEI book study is important because it gives our CAPA team the opportunity and space to not only learn collaboratively but also practice what we read.
