Book: Inferior: How Science Got Women Wrong- and the New Research That’s Rewriting the Story - Angela Saini

The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering DEI Book Club consists of members of the College’s faculty and staff who have committed to reading and learning from Angela Saini’s book Inferior: How Science Got Women Wrong- and the New Research That’s Rewriting the Story. As people who are trained as engineers and who support engineering students, many of us in the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering DEI Book Club are inclined to rely on science to inform our world outlook. However, science is not done in a vacuum and its results are affected by the time, place, and people involved. Critically examining how science has shaped the story of women in our society will allow us to consider how our experiences, history, and cultures may be influencing our views of women and other marginalized people and work towards ensuring we minimize biases in our own science and classrooms.
