Congratulations to Deneen Hendrick, DO, Coordinator for Pre-Health Programs, whose passion for equity in health care reaches CSMRU, Rowan SOM, and the Glassboro campus. We honor Dr. Hendrick for her scholarship, as well as her mentorship and service through programs like the Rosa Parks Luncheon Committee, the First Generation Task Force, and the National Association of Medical Minority Educators, among many other dedicated achievements. We celebrate student Riccardo Dale (Rowan University, ’19) for his tenacity in overcoming adversity only to give back to his community. Dale not only served as a mentor for the Rowan First Star Academy, which serves foster youth and their families in Southern New Jersey, he started his own non-profit mentoring service. He continues to share his experience and support with the community through motivational speaking at schools and organizations in New Jersey and beyond. Congratulations, Riccardo!

Honoring the memory of Rosa Parks since 2006, this committee has consistently developed excellent programming for Rowan University and our surrounding community. Each year, the Rosa Parks Luncheon features renowned speakers, and proceeds from the event go toward student scholarships in the name of Dr. Gary Hunter, whose time in the Rowan History department was characterized by a commitment to social justice, civil rights, and humanitarianism.
