The Office of Student Equity and Compliance (OSEC) mission is to engage and educate the Rowan community on prevention, identification, and reporting of all matters of discrimination, harassment, and gender-based violence by developing, implementing, and monitoring appropriate policies, procedures, and practices designed to ensure compliance requiring the prompt, thorough, and equitable resolution of all complaints.
OSEC is supported by 5 dynamic student leaders who are committed, passionate, and involved in creating an educational environment free from discrimination, harassment, and all forms of gender-based violence at Rowan University.
Allegra Giannini (she, her, hers) is a junior English major with a minor in Psychology. She works in Residential Learning and University Housing (RLUH) and has interned in Healthy Campus Initiatives (HCI). She has a passion for sexual violence prevention and Title IX as well as overall wellbeing, and loves meeting new people. She is currently the chair of the Student Title IX Summit which will be held on April 3rd, 2020. Allegra also has an intense love of dogs and Bruce Springsteen.
Dominique Pierson (she, her, hers) is a second year Master’s Candidate in the Higher Education: Administration program at Rowan University. She currently serves as a Resident Director in Holly Pointe Commons, as well as an intern in the Office of General Counsel and OSEC providing assistance with policy development and implementation.
Erin Flynn (she, her, hers) is a first-year graduate student in the Higher Education Administration program at Rowan as well as a Resident Director in Holly Pointe Commons. She became involved in the Office of Student Equity and Compliance through the Student Title IX Summit Planning Committee and is looking forward to continuing to work with the office to engage with students to ensure gender equality across campus.
Julia Lowman (she, her, hers) is a first-year student at Rowan University and co-chair of the OSEC Student Advisory Council. In high school, she was president of her student run club, Diversity Trainers. At Rowan, she’s a Community Health Major with a minor in Psychology. On campus, she’s a student worker for University Events and is part of the Honors Concentration.
Maura Freeland (she, her, hers) is a first-year student at Rowan University and co-chair of the OSEC Student Advisory Council. She’s a dual major in Political Science and Sociology and hoping to earn a minor in Spanish. On-campus, she’s a member of Planned Parenthood Generation Action and the Honors LGBTQ+ group as well as the Honors Concentration.
