FAQs for Commencement 2019

  • Graduate and Undergraduate students walk together. Ceremonies are organized by college or school, NOT level.
  • Students must apply to graduate BEFORE confirming Commencement participation.
  • Download the 2019 Commencement Week Schedule.
  • Guest tickets are required for the Main Ceremony and Celebration.
  • Guest tickets are not required for college ceremonies on the University Green.  
  • Extra tickets are not available for inclement weather college ceremonies.
  • Each ceremony will be simulcast to a viewing area. Simulcast sites do not require tickets.
  • Reserve your seat and guest tickets by April 1, 2019

Information Meetings

Graduation and Commencement Information Meetings are scheduled throughout the year. Representatives from the Registrar's Office and University Events are on hand to answer questions and to help identify potential roadblocks. Meetings are not mandatory but highly recommended. This year's schedule is as follows:

Caps and Gowns

The pageantry of Commencement is rich with symbolism and tradition. Candidates for graduation must wear a cap and gown to participate in the ceremony. Caps and gowns will be available for purchase in the
