NATHAN BAUER

For more than a decade, Nathan Bauer, assistant professor and department chair of Philosophy & World Religions in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, has served Rowan's students, faculty, and staff on numerous fronts. He has been a faculty coordinator and advisor to student organizations, department senator and co-organizer of the International Society for Philosophy of Science in Practice Conference, among many other roles. Additionally, he orchestrated the department's move to Laurel Hall during Bunce Hall renovations and handled many other responsibilities as department chair.

Since 2017, Bauer has been chair of the Senate Rowan Core Committee, leading and coordinating the implementation of the Rowan Core general education model. After it was in place, Bauer managed Rowan Core as chair of the Learning Assessment and Rowan Core Committees. According to an administrator, "Nathan's service to the University has been transformative for students and faculty. He approached every aspect of the work with a level of commitment, depth of understanding, and spirit of collaboration that is unparalleled in my experience."
