Atlantic City Fleet Reserve Association Student Veteran Scholarship
On December 12, 2016, Atlantic City’s Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 13 (FRA), presented a $1,000 scholarship award to benefit a Rowan University student beginning in the fall of 2017. The scholarship will be available to student veterans or students in active service, with a preference for students in the U.S. Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard.
The group’s president, Albert Davenport, vice president, Robert Campbell, and member, Robert McNulty, signed an agreement with Rowan’s Senior Vice President for University Advancement, John Zabinski, and Veterans Coordinator, Beth Sosnoski.
The Fleet Reserve Association is a community of the sea services: U.S. Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard personnel. The FRA is a non-profit organization that works tirelessly to preserve and enhance pay, benefits, and quality-of-life programs for members and their families as well as the overall service community. Branch 13 is one of the larger branches in the country, having received recognition for their membership growth. Their goal is to extend their reach by recognizing service members who are working to earn their degree.
Rowan University is well known as one of the top public universities in New Jersey offering an affordable and accessible education. Scholarships at Rowan provide the resources to recruit and support the best and brightest students while ensuring that their education remains affordable.
