Commencement Sponsors fund student awards

To make this year’s Centennial Commencement the most exciting and memorable ceremony yet, President Ali Houshmand coordinated five cash gifts to students—no strings attached!—in a random drawing at the end of the University celebration on Saturday, May 4.

Our community partners at AAA South Jersey and Zallie’s Family Markets generously provided $2,500 each to graduating students Lois Ajayi [Law & Justice Studies] and William Truex [Electrical & Computer Engineering], and honorary degree recipient Joe Cosgrove and his wife, Milissa, provided two gifts of $2,500 each to Bryan Martin [Radio, Television & Film] and Joanne Ludwick Viscusi [Masters in Nursing].

For the fifth year, Rowan’s campus catering partner, Gourmet Dining, also provided a gift and an opportunity to win $50,000 through a dice-rolling challenge. While she did not secure the grand prize, Molly Cullim [Elementary Education] joined the other lucky winners in taking home $2,500!
