Alyce Parker is the past chair of the Rowan University Foundation Board of Directors and has been on the Board since 2002.In 2011, she returned to Alyce Parker & Associates (1995), a full-service public relations, business development, community relations and governmental relations firm she founded in 1996. The firm provides pro bono community support in the NJ and PA market.
From 2005–10, she was the Vice President of Public Affairs for Harrah’s Entertainment, Atlantic City, which is the largest gaming and entertainment company in the world. She directed media relations, community relations and regional governmental relations for Harrah’s, Showboat, Caesar’s and Bally’s casinos as well as the Atlantic City Country Club.
Ms. Parker began her public relations career working for hospitals, youth organizations and government prior to coming to Atlantic City where she directed public relations for the opening of the Tropicana Casino. She later spent close to 15 years working for Harrah’s Atlantic City (1983–95).
She is active with the Community Food Bank of South Jersey "Women Fighting Hunger," Lower Township Planning Board, Atlantic City Ballet, Canyon Club Resort & Marina Condo Association and Bay-Atlantic Symphony.
A southern New Jersey native, she received a bachelor’s degree in political science and communication from Rowan in 1974 and later, a master’s in administration from Rider University. In 2007 she was named the recipient of the University’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. Ms. Parker served on the Rowan University Alumni Board in the 1990s.
