Rowan University Athletic Facilities
Baseball Field
The Rowan Baseball Field (often called “The Nest”) is a historic natural grass facility and prides itself as the oldest athletic facility on campus, with bleacher seating, ample standing room, and dedicated batting cages.
Capacity: 250 bleacher seats with additional standing room
Surface: Natural grass and infield dirt

Esbjornson Gym
The Rowan University Esbjornson “Esby” Gymnasium serves as a premier indoor venue featuring a hardwood arena ideal for court sports and special events. Esby houses the Prof’s men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, and women’s volleyball.
Capacity: 1,150 bleacher seating

Soccer/Lacrosse Field
The Rowan Soccer & Lacrosse Complex is a premier venue that serves as the home for the Prof’s soccer and lacrosse programs, complete with a modern press box and dedicated team shelters.
Capacity: 1,500 bleacher seating with additional standing room

Softball Field
The Rowan University Softball Field features a high-quality natural grass surface and dugouts designed to provide an elite competitive environment for various softball activities.

Wackar Stadium
Coach Richard Wackar Stadium is a versatile, multi-sport complex with a modern press box, that serves as the home for the Prof’s football, field hockey, and track & field programs as well as the University commencement ceremonies.
Capacity: 5,000 bleacher seating with additional standing room

West Campus
Located just 1.6 miles from Rowan University’s main campus, West Campus offers convenient access to campus resources while still allowing participants and guests to live in Rowan’s residential facilities. This state-of-the-art, 17.5-acre athletic complex features two professional-grade synthetic turf, multi-purpose fields designed for football, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. The facility also includes advanced sports lighting and dedicated areas for track and field throwing and jumping events.

Rowan University Recreational Facilities
Recreation Center [Indoor]
The REC Center — 82,000-sq-ft health club: 3-court gym (volleyball/badminton/pickleball), elevated track, racquetball courts, group fitness/functional training studios. Full-gym rental divides into 3 courts; single-court rentals also available. Eligible for special events including corporate retreats, after-prom, and blood drives.

Tony Lisa Natatorium
The Tony Lisa Natatorium is an aquatic facility featuring an eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool equipped with modern starting blocks for competitive events and a state-of-the-art timing system. Located within the Student Recreation Center, it serves as a high-energy venue offering spectator seating for competitions, practices, and/or private lessons.

Recreation Center [Outdoor]
The Recreation “REC” Center offers a large outdoor complex with a new turf field installed in Summer 2026. The field can be used for different types of sports activities. Adjacent, there are sand volleyball courts and hard courts for basketball and tennis.

Tennis Courts
Looking to rally, practice your serves, or play a few games of tennis? These outdoor tennis courts are available for the campus community to enjoy. The campus recreation department offers tennis courts for everyone looking to have fun playing against friends and competing while getting active and staying healthy.
