All incoming freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 30 transfer credits who do not meet one of the exemptions below are required to take:

  • ACCUPLACER Next Generation Reading
  • ACCUPLACER Next Generation Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics

Your test results will be used to place you in the courses appropriate to your level of preparation.  In some cases, the appropriate courses may be non-credit Basic Skills courses that do not apply to graduation requirements.

Please note:  Students are responsible for adjusting their schedule if placement changes; consult your advisor.

Students with majors that require Pre-Calculus or Calculus found in the left column of the chart below, who do not meet an exemption, are also required to take:

  • ACCUPLACER Next Generation Advanced Algebra and Functions

Your test results will be used to place you in the course appropriate to your level of preparation for calculus. All placements are credit-bearing college level courses.

Students in a major that requires Chemistry, and do not meet one of the exemptions are required to take:

  • Chemistry I Placement Test

Your test results will be used to place you in the Chemistry course appropriate to your level of preparation.  More information about Chemistry placement testing can be found in the chart below.
