The submission cycle for the 2020 Symposium is now open!  (Watch the Rowan Daily Announcer for more information).  The deadline for submissions will be 11:59pm on MARCH 11, 2020.  All abstracts must be submitted via our ONLINE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION SYSTEM. Please note that abstracts submitted by mail, disk, or email will NOT be accepted. To be accepted, an abstract must be submitted by the student author(s) and approved by its faculty sponsor(s) by the submission deadline.

We will be using our Online Submission System again this year!

  • If you submitted to the STEM Symposium last year:  Your account information in our Online Submission System should still be active for this year's submission.
  • If you did not submit an abstract to the STEM Symposium last year:  You should probably take a look at our "Getting Started" Guide (PDF) or our Submission System's detailed user manual (PDF) and then register in our Online Submission System.
  • HELPFUL TIP:  Your submission process will be much smoother if all of your abstract co-authors (and your faculty sponsor) are registered in the Online Abstract Submission System before you start working on your abstract!
  • Students may edit their abstract while it is in the "Unsubmitted" status.
  • Faculty may edit abstracts while they are in the "Submitted" status.
  • "Approved" abstracts are no longer editable by students or faculty.

Just as we did last year, we have set aside a period in April for students and faculty to download and review page proofs of the RUSSS Abstract Booklet. More information about the page proof stage will be made available at that time.

The 2020 RUSSS event will be held on Thursday-Friday April 16-17. Specific session times will be listed at the RUSSS webpages once we know how many presentations we will be hosting this year, but we anticipate sessions to be held on Thursday early evening, Friday morning, Friday midday, and Friday afternoon. Preferences for session times must be made in the "Special Requests" section of the abstract submission process. Students who submit abstracts will be informed which session they are in after the submission deadline has passed.
