LGBTQIA+ Center

LGBTQIA+ Center

Mission

The LGBTQIA+ Center is a resource for students who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, or Agender/Asexual.  The center intends to create safer spaces for students by supporting students’ exploration of their identity, and advocate for campus inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community at Rowan.  The staff of the Center works to fulfill its goals through advocacy for campus inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community at Rowan and by providing relevant training opportunities to students, faculty, and staff.

Celebrate Identities

Celebrate LGBTQIA+ identity through our observations of LGBTQ History Month, National Coming Out Week, Trans Awareness Week, Transgender Remembrance Day, Rowan Pride Week, and National Day of Silence.

Build Community

Build community through the center’s ongoing programs and services, which include a coming out support group, an SJICR Reads book club sponsored by the center, or attending a student organization meeting held by one of our affiliated LGBTQIA+ student organizations.

Become an Ally

Promote allyship by attending our workshops and lectures on best practices for supporting LGBTQIA+ students or educating yourself through our lending library.
