The ELP at Rowan University is an English program for international and local immigrant students. Our primary goals are to prepare students for university success and help non-native speakers of English improve their English skills. This program has a history of over 50 years helping students from non-English speaking countries all over the world and have had great careers in the U.S. and other countries.

The ELP has five levels: Level 1 (Low Beginner), Level 2 (High Beginner), Level 3 (Low Intermediate), Level 4 (High Intermediate) and Level 5 (Advanced). After taking the placement test, you will be placed at the level that best suits your knowledge of the English language.

We offer 5 levels, and each level lasts one semester (13-14 weeks). Depending on what level you place into and how you progress in the program, it will take anywhere from 1 semester to 5 semesters (18 months) to complete the program.

If you successfully complete the 14-week Advanced Level (Level 5) with a minimum GPA of 3.0, you DO NOT need to take the TOEFL or IELTS for admission into undergraduate and graduate programs at Rowan University.

You can study for one session (7 weeks) or both sessions (14 weeks). Classes are held in person.
